DIMITRI
February 9th
Dear Delia,
I got the rock. It's beautiful. It's sitting on my windowsill in a little glass box. When sun hits it, pink and white lights shine all over my room. I love waking up to that. It reminds me of you.My dad's been a heavy drinker for about a year now. It started after his mother (my grandmother) passed away on his birthday. She had a heart attack. Ever since he's been drinking and has horrible mood swings. It's better to stay out of his way. I hate the screaming.
Can I tell you a secret?
A few weeks ago I went downstairs to get some water and I heard my parents fighting in the living room. I hid and watched them. My dad hit my mom. Just straight up slapped her. I ran to my room and started bawling. I was so scared. I don't know what to do. My mom acts like everything is normal. I want to talk to her about it, but I'm afraid my dad will hit her again.
My favorite candy is Sour Patch Kids. I always get them when I go to the movies. What's your favorite candy? I'm guessing chocolate (like Kit Kat) or disgusting (like black licorice).
My question: Would you ever consider going to church?
Love, Dimitri
