Dear Dimitri,
YES! I would come live with you in a HEARTBEAT! I just got the craziest idea. What if we moved in together after senior year? We find a place halfway to meet and look for apartments together? Or I could just come to California because I am sick of living in Florida. Her name is Alison. She's a year ahead, a junior. She failed Algebra 2 her sophomore year and has to retake it. Yes, she's nice, and yes the Oreos were double stuffed. Yesterday at lunch she actually stood up for me when my middle school bullies picked on me. Shut them up real tight.
I tried talking to my guidance counselor, but he said all class switches have to be made in the first month after the school year starts. Utter bullshit. At this point I'd rather face my middle school bullies than be stuck homeschooled with my dad.
I don't know what to do, Dimitri. I can't just leave my dad, but I don't want to stay anymore. I want to take him somewhere to get help, but whenever I try... let's just say he's given me a pair of black eyes and bruises on my arm to match.
You were confident enough to tell your mom about your dad, what makes therapy different? Your mom seems really understanding and I'm sure she'd want to know how you really feel. Besides, we'll always have a lot on our plate. It shouldn't stop you, though.
