"Are you sure you don't want me to accompany you for the store?" Taylor asks you, as she helps you slip on your jacket from behind.
"I'm sure. I won't be long, I just need to pick up a couple of things, than I'll be home before you know it." You reassure her.
Taylor hated letting you go anywhere alone, but she understood if you wanted time for yourself because that was important for a healthy relationship. As you picked up your car keys, Taylor walks out with you to the car and helps you in. Before taking off, she leans in through the open window and plants a soft, delicate kiss on your cheek and leaves you with the one thing you can never escape from.
"Have fun and be careful." You look to her with a contagious smile she knew all too well.
"I will. I'll let you know once I'm done."
"Sounds good!"
As you back out of the driveway, you wave back to Taylor until she vanishes from your view. However, your trip to the store had taken you longer than you expected, as you made a last minute decision to purchase some ingredients in making you and Taylor a special meal this night and turn it into a homemade date.
It was something you were so focused on, you lost track of time and by the time you had gotten back in your car, you realized it had been nearly two hours since you left. As you pull out your phone, you were greeted by twenty seven missed calls and at least ten unread text messages from a worried Taylor. Although you had promised her a call when you were finished, you decided that it would be okay to skip out on it since you weren't too far from home. But you should've known better than to break the promise, when you walked in, you set your groceries on the counter and you were greeted with a worried Taylor as she was pacing back and forth from the kitchen and family room.
You noticed her biting her nails, as it was something she always did out of an anxious habit before she noticed you had come home.
"Where have you been? I've been worried about you, especially when you didn't pick up my calls or texts messages! I was just about to call the police, Y/n!" Before you could respond, Taylor stalks over to you and pulls you in for a very much needed hug.
"I'm so sorry, Taylor! I made a last minute decision to get ingredients for a special meal for us tonight, and I lost track of the time."
As you say this, she glances over your shoulder and spots the grocery bags you had set down on the counter seconds before and smiles at you.
"It's okay, I was just worried about you. But for next time, please don't forget to call or text me." You return the smile and gave her a quick nod in agreement.
The evening started out with the beautiful meal you both worked on together, and than it was ended by a movie you both really loved just as much.
Neither of you wanted this evening end, it was such a pleasant evening that you hated to see it end.
