It had been a few days since I had met Sam and everything. My mom had been acting strangely these past few days. I had no clue why. I mean, it started after Back to School night. My mom went without Finn and I,  obviously. She didn't even tell us why.

I walked out into the living room, one fine Tuesday morning and just stood there. "Hey! Hey! That's my couch. That's where I sleep on the weekends."

I looked at my mom. "Mom, you got rid of my couch. What's going on?" She didn't look at me, but kept talking to the guy that was taking all the stuff. "Mom, you got rid of your honeymoon set. I was conceived on that bed." Finn said to her, practically chasing her around the room. "No, honey, you were conceived on a pinball machine."

His mouth dropped open. "Was I at least conceived on that bed?" She thought for a moment. "No, you were conceived in...a movie theater bathroom." I stopped. "Do you at least know what movie it was?"

"Godzilla."

"Explains why you're such a monster." Finn mumbled.

I hit him on the shoulder, which he rubbed after the fact. "Mom. What's going on?"

She smiled brightly. "I'm in love, honey." I pointed to the urn that sat on the table. "Mom, I hope you're saying that you're in love with the urn, because I'm not ready to hear about this."

"Will you at least tell us who it is?"

"Your friend, Kurt's dad."

I nearly fell backward. This wasn't happening. I mean, it had been 15 years since my dad had died, but still it was weird to know that someone else was making my mom happy. I was happy for her, I was. But it was still strange. "I'm gonna go to school. And...yeah. I'll catch the bus." I grabbed my bookbag from beside the front door and ran out.

I felt like I couldn't breathe. Like nothing made sense anymore. The whole bus ride was weird. Like it wasn't real. When I got into school, everything went slower. It was a tap on my shoulder that brought me back to the real world.

"Are you okay?'

"I can't breathe, Sam. Like all the wind was taken out of me."

"Do you wanna talk about it?"

Then, I realized who I was talking to and everything changed. "I um...I have to go. But, I will see you in Spanish." He nodded. "Your face is red.." He called after me. "I know.." I called back. I was practically running to English when I bumped into Scarlett who was pretty much crying. "Scarlett, what's wrong?"

"I came out to my parents last night."

I smiled. "Oh, congratulations." She shook her head. "It sucked. I came out and they kicked me out." I cocked my head to the side. "Where are you gonna stay?" She sighed. "Lexie said I could stay with her, so that's a plus."

"Was there anybody you introduced them too?" I asked her. She nodded. "My girlfriend." I smiled. "Oh. When do I get to meet her?"

And that's when it happened.

"Hey, Breadstix eight o'clock?" Quinn asked her. Scarlett nodded. My mouth dropped open. She smiled snarkily at me and walked past. "Ew! That is gross! Scarlett Fae. That is disgusting." She gave me a very offended look. "Why is it gross?"

"Because, one, she slept with your best friend's best friend--cheating on him--and...she's a bitch and I really don't like her."

"So, because you don't like her, it's gross?" I nodded. "Exactly. Now, I have to get to English, but I promise, Scarlett, everything is going to get better." She looked at me. "I promise. I have to go."

I walked past her and to the English room. Quinn really? That was gross. Some day I was having, huh?
