I carried the last box into my new apartment. It looked nice in there—well, it would look nice after I decorated it and all. The apartment had three bedrooms. Two really. Sam and I lived there. I had agreed to let Blaine stay there until he found a place to stay or until at least Kurt was okay with him in New York. And for the third one, I had turned the office area into a bedroom for Artie. He was one of Sam's best friends and needed a place to stay. Living with three guys was way better than three girls. I think I'd be able to deal with it.
"Alright. Artie's boxes are in his room. Our boxes are in our room. Blaine, where's your boxes?" He looked back behind him. "Oh, yeah. I already put them in my room." I nodded. "Alright. Avengers, assemble." They all just looked at me. "That means build the things that need to be built." They all continued staring at me. "Go, people. Build." Blaine and Artie came over to me. "You do realize that you are trusting a handicapable, a gay guy, and a guy that thinks the moon is made of cheese with tools. Sharp tools."
I sighed. "So, you want me to build it by myself?" They both shook their heads. "You want me to call Finn." They both nodded. "No. I am an adult now. I don't need my big brother to come and do things for me. So help me God, we will put things together to make this apartment look amazing."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure. Let's do this."
So we did. We built the furniture. We decorated the apartment. I decorated the apartment. It looked nice by the time it was done. I smiled a little as I stood in the living room.
"It looks good, A.J." I turned, as I was startled that someone was behind me. "Finn, what're you doing here?" He looked to the room behind me, where all three of the boys were.
"Did they call you?"
"Yeah...they told me you were angry at a hammer."
I turned. "I wasn't angry at the hammer. I just like...yelling at things. One, two, three. Rooms. Now."
They all scattered to the winds. "You're like their mother." I shrugged. "Sometimes, that's needed." He looked around. "There's only two bedrooms. They're both upstairs. Where's Artie sleep?
I pointed up the steps. "Mine and Sam's room is upstairs. So is Blaine's. And we turned the office into a room for Artie." He looked around. "All you say is 'go to your rooms' and they scatter like children. You're taking nicely to New York." I smirked a little. "No, it's not the New York. It's just that I don't have any adults telling me what to do and what not to do."
I walked over and sat down on the couch. "Are you sure this is the best thing for your relationship? I mean, you started dating a few months ago." I sighed. "Wouldn't that be a little hypocritical coming from you? You just moved in together a few weeks before graduation."
"Lexie and I have been dating for nearly three years."
"Do you love her?" He nodded. "Do you want a future with her?" He nodded once more. "Can you count on her for anything?" He nodded again. "Finn, everything you just agreed to, I feel with Sam. Please don't tell me what is good or not good for my relationship. For a minute, don't be my older brother. Be my brother. Be happy for me. Please." He just looked at me for a second.
"I am happy for you."
I thought for a moment. "Didn't Scarlett and Santana just move in together? Didn't they get together a week before graduation?" He nodded and sat down next to me on the couch. "Yeah, but Santana told me I wasn't allowed to go there until they finished decorating." I sighed as I leant my head back on the couch.
"Did you and Lexie find an apartment yet?" He shook his head. "Well, there is an apartment for rent next door. And I could use someone to stop me from killing these three--because God knows that I'm going to get angry at the two of them It's pretty cheap. It's not as fancy as mine, with no fancy office. But you could always turn the extra bedroom into something."
"You really think it'll work?" I thought for a moment. "I think...it might be good for our relationship, maybe yours. Just talk to Lexie about it." He smiled. We both got up and walked over to the door. "Oh, but if you do get the apartment, do me a favor. The bedrooms in these apartments are equally big. Take the room on the left side. These walls are very thin and I like to get sleep at night." He laughed a little.
"Yeah, I'll make sure we do that."
He walked out of the apartment and I shut the door behind him. I smiled as I twirled around and took in my new apartment. My new life. My better life.
My second chance.
