Tony's POV
Team bonding night. Usually, I would hate these kinds of bonding exercises because of Rogers and his team of delusional hypocritical morons, but since they're out of the picture, I'm starting to enjoy these things a little better. We decided to do a game show- style night; kids vs adults. The teams were a little bit unbalanced due to the fact that there were more adults than kids, but they didn't seem to mind.
On the kids' team were Jessica, Ethan, Pietro, Harley, Peter, and Loki. The adults' team consists of Pepper, Rhodey, Vision, Clint, Bruce, and Thor.
I volunteered to give out the questions(mostly because I wanted the teams to be even). The chart was separated into five categories: pet peeves, favorite movies/musicals and items, personality traits, secret talents/abilities, and which avenger is it?
"Ok, are we going to get this started or what? The sooner my team wins this game, the sooner I can get my $50 from Clint", Jessica announced. I rolled my eyes at her. What is it with Clint and her always betting whenever we play games?
"On the contrary, my dear cousin. It's going to be my team that wins and me winning that $50", Clint responded.
"Sure, tell that to the other times you said that you were going to win bets, but I somehow kept winning"
"Ok, we really need to have serious talk with your betting issues after this game, you two"
"Hey, it's not my fault that your birdbrain of a brother somehow loses to your 17 year old cousin. But fine, we'll talk about it later. Right now, let's play this game"
"Alright, first the rules. There are five categories and one person from each team can pick a certain number of points from the choice category. A member from the team will have 60 seconds to guess and if they run out of time or get it wrong, then the other team gets a chance to guess. If both teams fail, no-one gets the points. Ok, adult team, you're first. Pick your category". The adult team whispered to each other for a while until Pepper spoke up.
"We'll take which avenger is it for 800 points"
"Wow, aiming high, aren't we? Ok, here's a section of a photo of one of the current members of the Avengers. Who is it?" Insert photo of someone's arm.
The adult team looked at the photo with confusion. Their faces were blandly showing the expression, how in the world am I going to guess this?
"30 seconds". When I said that, Clint hurried to press his button. "Clint?"
"Is that...Ethan?"
"That's incorrect"
"Yeah, look at that photo, then look at me. How can that be me? I may have the powers of the Space and Soul Stone, but I'm not that buff"
"Kids team, you have a chance to steal the points. What is your guess?". The kids' team talked to each other for a couple of seconds until Harley pressed his button. "Alright, Harley. Your guess?"
"Is that you, Mechanic?"
"That's incorrect. The photo's actually Clint"
"Really?! How didn't I know that?"
"Well, why did you think I made you all wear long-sleeved shirts, including myself?"
"True, I guess that makes sense"
"Alright, the kids' team. It's your turn to choose a category". The team talked, then Jessica pressed her button.
"We'll take pet peeves for 200"
"Ok, the question is what is my biggest pet peeve?". Peter quickly pressed on his button.
"Your biggest pet peeve is being handed things. Everybody knows that"
"Ok, even I have to admit that was pretty easy. Ok, that's 200 points for the kids' team. Adult team, what's your choice?"
"Secret talents/abilities for 400"
The game went on as any game show would. The adults team were in the lead for awhile, but in the end, the kids team won. Jessica, deciding that the victory was good enough, let Clint keep his $50.
Well, I guess you could say that game night was a success since everyone was joking around about how they didn't know the simple answers to some of the questions.
Yeah, everyone seemed to get along fine. Well, everyone except Ethan and Jessica. It's not that they didn't get along with anyone, it's just that they seemed to be distracted. Ethan has been constantly checking his phone and Jessica seemed to be distracted all on her own, like they were both waiting for something. Then, Ethan checked his phone, but this time, he looked surprised. He then showed Jessica his phone and she looked surprised as well.
"Hey, everyone. Ethan and I have something important to take care of, which we'll explain later, but we have to go. Ok, bye". They both left in a hurry.
"Well, that was weird. They never acted like that before". Clint has a point, Jessica and Ethan never acted like that, but I'm sure they're fine. But I'll still ask them when I get the chance just to be sure. I just hope they're not planning something that's dangerous or stupid.
