Chapter 17

Jessica's POV

Operation: Get Clint and Laura Together is a go. Fortunately, Tony couldn't be here today because he wanted to start planning renovations for the compound, and Rhodey and Vision wanted to help as well. So, it was just Pepper, Clint, and I.

Well, Pietro, Harley, and Loki were here as well. I may have recruited them into the operation. I've asked Ethan and Peter to be apart of the operation, but, not wanting to get on Tony's bad side, they denied and decided to stay upstairs in the living area. Harley, Loki and Pietro were more than happy to help. Pietro thought it would be nice to get Clint a date, but Harley and Loki just wanted to mess with Clint. Honestly, those two working together is the World's worst combination.

Anyways, time to put the plan in place. First, we have to get Clint and Laura in the same room together. Pepper and I decided that all of the agents Clint recruited would go with him, all of the agents she recruited would go with her, and all of the agents Ethan and I recruited would go with me.

"Welcome to Stark Tower, SWORD Agents. We are fortunate to have join the new agency", Pepper said. Yes, she said 'Stark Tower'. We changed sometime after the press conference. I always hated seeing that giant 'A' anyways, and no-one was sad to see it gone.

"So, as you may know, you need to sign the New Avengers Registration Acts before you're registered to be apart of the program"

"Yes, and we thought it would be easier to sign if each group were split up. Agents who were recommended by Pepper Potts, go with her. Agents recommended by Ethan Cooper or I, come with me. And agents recommended by Clint Barton, go with him"

The agents went into their respective groups as I leaned over to Loki, Pietro, Harley.

"Keep an eye on Clint and don't spare any details"

Clint's POV

I know Jessica and Pepper are planning something. I knew I shouldn't have told them about Laura. Who I don't like in that kind of way!

Anyways, I guess Laura has to be in my group since I recommended her. Well, the sooner she signs the Acts, the sooner she can leave. When my group went into one of the meeting rooms in the tower, I handed them all copies of the New Avengers Registration Acts to read over as I explained the rules and regulations of SWORD. All of them were more than willing to sign the Acts after carefully reading them over. Once they all signed, I told them that once Tony finishes the new renovated compound, they will officially begin working as SWORD agents.

Once I received all of the signed documents, I dismissed them and they went on their way. Well, everyone except Laura.

"Hello, Clint"

"Oh. Hello, Laura. How are you?"

"I'm great. Thank you again for the recommendation"

"Yeah, I mean we did work with each other a lot when we were both in SHIELD, so I thought I would be fair to add you to the list"

"Well, thank you. To be honest, when I found out that Tony Stark wanted to start an organization called SWORD, I was hoping that I could join. As a way to thank him for saving me from being burned"

"Yeah, I understand. I just found out that Tony saved me from being burned last night"

"Well, of course, he would save you. He's your older brother"

"Wait? You knew about that?"

"Of course, I knew about that. Clint, I knew you for four years. Did you really think I didn't know that you're Tony's brother? I promise you that I've never told anyone. I didn't even put it in your file"
