Chapter 21

Tony's POV

After everyone bonded pretty well after last night's game and the compound's renovations in progress, I decided to start working on the roster for the New Avengers team. I sat in my office all morning, putting the names of the members under their corresponding team.

With the rogues coming back soon, I want to make sure that I don't run into them at all. I'd hate to force them over to Rhodey and Jessica, but I definitely don't want to deal with them anymore. Speaking of Jessica, Ethan and her were acting very weird after game night. I hope they're okay.

"Hey, Tony". Speaking of the spider, she just walked into my office. "What are you doing?"

"Hey, Jess. I'm just setting up the roster for the New Avengers"

"Oh, that's cool. How many teams do we have now?"

"So far, we have four. The Young Avengers led by you, New Avengers team 1 led by Rhodey, the Revengers led by Thor, and New Avengers team 2 led by me. Do you want to look?"

"Sure. You finally decided to be a team leader?"

"Yeah, everyone was begging me to become a team leader, so I finally gave in and registered"

"That's great. You'll be an excellent team leader, Tony. Where's Bruce? Is he not going to be on any teams?"

"Yeah, he decided to retire from the Avengers business, but I decided to make him head scientist once the compound's ready"

"Alright, good for him. I can see that you're planning to put the rogues, excluding Scott, on every team except yours"

"Yeah, I'm trying to keep the rogues off my team, so I don't have to deal with their nonsense anymore."

"Oh, Tony. I actually wanted to speak to you about that. My team and I were talking and they decided that they wouldn't be very comfortable with having that witch on our team, especially Pietro"

"Oh, really? I can understand that, but your team is the only Young Avengers team we have"

"I know, but I wanted to talk to you about options that might solve the issue"

"Alright, what do you have?"

"Well, either we find someone who can bound her powers until they're necessary to use or we have to set up another Young Avengers team who are immune to her powers"

"Wait? What about Ethan and Loki? Aren't they powerful enough to bind another person's powers or use a spell that can make the rest of the team immune her powers?"

"I knew you were going to ask that. As powerful as Ethan and Loki may be, they don't know how to bind someone's powers or make others immune to her powers besides themselves"

"Ok, unfortunately, I don't know someone who could bind her powers, but I guess I could set up on a different team who's immune to her"

"Thanks, Tony. I knew you'll understand"

"Yeah, I get it. You want to guarantee your team's safety. Speaking of safety, what was going on with you and Ethan? You both were acting very weird after the game"

"Oh, that. We're fine. Ethan was just texting with his mom"

"His mom? But I thought you said that he lives with his brother?"

"He does, but his mom kind of lives in space"

"In space?", I asked while raising my eyebrow in confusion. "What do you mean 'lives in space'?"

"I mean that she lives in space. She protects other planets from invading threats. According to Ethan, she's half kree and has the space stone powers"

"Well, that explains the space part, but what is this kree thing?"

"It's hard to explain, but you can ask her when she comes back to Earth"

"Coming back to Earth?"

"Yeah, Ethan told her about the threat coming to Earth and that he joined the team to help prevent it. He asked her if she wanted to join, and she said yes"

"That's great. Tell Ethan I said thanks"

"That's not all. She also bringing some friends she met while saving a planet"

"Really? Well, that helps a lot. Who are they?"

"They call themselves the Guardians of the Galaxy. Apparently, it consists of a person, a green alien lady, a blue alien lady, a muscular alien, a talking raccoon, and a talking, moving tree"

"What?"

"I try not to question it. Just be happy that they offered to help and move on"

"Alright, then. When are they supposed to come?"

"In a couple of hours or less, depending on how smoothly the space travel is"

"Alright, thanks for the update"

"Anytime, also do you remember that Ethan's half-brother and my half-brother wanted to join the team?"

"Oh, yeah. When am I going to meet them?"

"Possibly around the time Ethan's mom and the Guardians of the Galaxy are supposed to come"

"Talk about timing. Anyways, I meant to ask you, how did you find out you had a half-brother?"

"It's a long story, but basically, I met him while I was on that field trip in New Jersey". I remember that field trip, she went on it during the airport fight in the 'civil war'.

"Alright, nice to know. It just weirded me out when you first mentioned him"

"Yeah, sorry. I forgot that you didn't know who he was before I mentioned him. Anyways, speaking of asking questions. Why didn't you tell me?"

"Tell you what?"

"Why didn't you tell that you needed help at the airport? Peter's younger than me, so why did you ask him and not me?"

"Honestly, I don't know. I was desperate, and you were still in New Jersey at the time, so I didn't want to waste time waiting for you to come. To be fair, I don't even know why I bought Peter to that airport either"

"I guess I can understand that, but Tony, I'm always come to your aid when you need. So, next time you have an airport fight again, promise you'll call me unless I'm more than two states then you can ask someone else"

"Yeah, I promise"

"Good", I heard a phone ringing and she picked it out of her pocket. "That was Ethan, his mom, the guardians have arrived, but Mike and Josh are almost here"

"Alright, let's go meet our new additions to the team"

"Also, quick question, how do you feel about going on the roof?"

"The roof?"
