Nina's mind wouldn't stop going over how easily he overtook her she was frustrated and slightly hurt.
Why be hurt?
Because you thought he'd show some appreciation for all you've done, that's why.
He was a man from another world who was having family issues among other things she couldn't expect him to act reasonably, could she?
She knew of the issues with Loki sending some giant machine to knock off his brother. S.H.I.E.L.D had been all over it. But Loki himself had not come to earth so why now what or who sent him.
She needed air.
Nina went to her room and dressed for the snow outside before making her way to the front door. She paused a moment looking towards Loki's closed door trying to decide if she should let him know she was going out. Hell with it.
Why should she, she wasn't his biggest fan at the moment.
She opened the door closing it quietly behind her and stepping into the cold crisp air.
Loki laid on his bed staring at the ceiling trying to call up any magic he could muster from deep inside.
He could not. The look on Nina's face when he had pinned her the hurt and betrayal behind her eyes bothered him.
Why?
She is just a mortal she is meaningless.
Yeah, she just took you in even though she knew who and what you are.
Not completely, she only knew he was a God, Prince of Asgard brother of Thor, Odinson.
Not the truth.
He sat up running his hands through his still tender head and wincing.
She did not know of his pain his betrayal the reason why he would seek his revenge.
No she did not know that.
Loki tried hard to apply glamour to himself making himself into anything but he couldn't and it was exhausting.
No power no energy.
Why?
He shook his head he didn't know he couldn't remember much after he had let go of the spear his father held out to him. He had let go to save Thor though if asked he would deny it whole heartedly. Now here he was.
Loki stood and walked slowly to the window to the forest of white sparkling infront of him. He hated the cold but he couldn't deny the beauty of the image infront of him.
Midguard had its beauty and for his first time on their little world he couldn't have chosen a better place to fall.
As he stood mesmerized by the sun in the crystals of snow he noticed Nina in the distance her red hair unmistakable against the white that surrounded her. She wore a white coat and pants and was seemingly enjoying the view as she gazed all around her. He stepped behind the windows coverings watching her as she moved through the snow.
She was fluid in her movements occasionally kicking the snow into the air where it fell like sparkling dust.
As he watched she froze lowering herself to her knees his heart began to pound in his chest and he looked for a threat but could see none. She fell backwards and began to flail her arms and legs around her.
Was she having some sort of medical issue?
He quickly examined the window seeing how it opened he shoved it up and dove out ignoring the pain in his body. He fell into a roll and popped to a stand headed to her he skidded to a stop.
"Loki, what are you doing?"she asked from the snow where she laid looking up at him puzzled.
"I saw you having some kind of episode I have come to help." He was breathless.
Nina looked at him her mouth slightly open her face blank.
Then she laughed loudly laying back in the snow holding her stomach
"What is wrong with you!" Was she going mad.
"I'm sor.... sor... sorry." She stuttered. Her face flushed. "Loki I am fine I was making snow angels." She laughed some more. She calmed down seeing his aggravation.
"A what?" He asked looking around he hated not knowing, knowledge was everything and if you didn't have it you usually ended up looking absurd. That is how he felt now and it made him angry.
"Look." She pulled herself carefully and pointed at the impression in the snow. "See it looks like an angel." She grinned.
"I thought you were being possessed and you were making some kind of idiotic snow thing?!" He yelled his deep voice vibrating and echoing through the woods.
"I appreciate the thought." She smiled. She did appreciate it but she could see it wasn't going to be that easy.
"You mortals are ridiculous senseless creatures!" He sneered his fists tight at his sides.
Nina's was now angry as well.
"Why did you bother to even try to save me if mortals are so unworthy?!" She yelled back her blue eyes blazing at him.
"Because I have need of you. A Prince needs his servants. " he knew as soon af the words were out of his mouth that they were a mistake.
Nina's eyes widened she opened her mouth then closed it tight.
"Go to hell." She said as she stomped past him pushing against his shoulder.
Loki looked into the woods and cursed himself and he was suddenly freezing.
Nina's felt like screaming as she pushed past him anger almost making her blast him back into the sky. She didn't know if she could but she would like to try. This arrogant man was amazing his sense of entitlement was head spinning and she had never been so overwhelmed with frustration.
He could freeze out there she didn't care he could leave she'd had enough. She was no ones servant ever. But what could she do, no phone, she could hike but that would take hours and the snow was deep. She slammed into the house and straight into her room she'd been having such a good time too. She peeled off her clothes and threw them across the room.
Loki slowly made his way back to the window and climbed through his body aching and feeling like a idiot. Why did he attack her she was helping him and he just could not help but react angrily. His emotions were clouded and defensive he needed to get himself together or he would never get his magic back.
He walked through his room hoping to find her in the living area but she was not there. He went to her room and peeked through the door seeing nothing he pushed in.
"Nina?"he called.
"I don't want to speak to you. Your highness!" Her voice came from a open door across the room.
"Nina, I would like to speak to you." Loki went the door standing just outside.
"No." She growled.
"I'm coming in."
He heard a curtain draw and water splash.
"Don't!"
"To late." Loki walked into the bathroom and sat on the floor next to the tub a frosted white curtain separating them.
"Seriously?" She huffed. "Say what you want and go."
"Let me apologize. I overreacted a bit. Seems to be a fault of mine. One of the only ones I might add."
"Do you think?"
"So I have been told."
"I am not your servant. "
"No I know."
"You need me."
Loki bit his tounge she was right he did. He took a deep breath.
"Yes, indeed." He managed.
"No more fits."
"I will try I can promise that at least."
"Alright, truce?"
"Yes." He paused. " Nina?"
"Yes?"
"Do not ever call me your highness again."
She snickered.
"Loki?"
"Yes?"
"Get out of my bathroom."
Loki smirked and chuckled.
"Yes Nina."
