Chapter 38: Trap

"What's the ETA, Clint?" Steve called out.

"We are landing right... about... now." Clint stated as he landed the jet.

"Okay team, listen up." Steve called out. "Last time we were here, they had a barrier protecting the building. Tony, can you have FRIDAY check that out?"

Tony looked at Steve asking 'Why is that even a question.' "Can I?" Tony scoffed. "FRIDAY, what's the view from up there?"

"I detected nothing around the building nor in the surrounding area."

"So, what's the plan?" Clint asked as he walked out of the cockpit. "We could rush in. I don't think they expected us to do that. Probably expecting us to take it slow. Sneak attack them."

"We might not want to rush in. But I think your right on the fact they would expect us to take the element of surprise." Steve said. "Any word from the others?"

"I just got word that Shuri was sent to Wakanda with her brother. He said that if we needed assistance, Wakanda will be right behind us." Natasha stated.

"Why was she sent back?" Wanda asked.

"Something about people messing up her lab and having new memes to spread. Also needing her gauntlets or something." Natasha said.

"Okay, here's the plan." Steve said. "Wanda and Vision will sneak around and get in. The rest of us will buy them some time and cover."

The others nodded and they exited the aircraft. After walking closer to the base, Wanda and Vision spilt off. Steve gave Clint a signal and he shot an arrow in the opposite direction from the other two. The arrow created an explosion. There were yells in the air and soldiers started firing. Trying to advance on the heroes.

"Tony." Steve called out in the comms.

"Yeah, yeah. Already ahead of you." Tony shot repulsor blast and scattered the soldiers.

From behind a tree, Bucky reloaded his gun and fired. Next to him, Stev threw his shield, knocking out a few soldiers. Bucky ducked behind a tree again and turned to Steve.

"Peter wasn't kidding when he said you were throwing a large dinner plate." Bucky said and smirked when Steve let out a sigh.

Clint shot an arrow causing a bunker to explode. Natasha ran past Clint and fought a few soldier's in close combat before taking out her shotguns and fired. Suddenly, the Hulk rampaged through, demolishing another bunker.

Steve ran into the battle field and punched a soldier in the face. Thor came down from the sky and blasted away the surrounding enemies. Bucky came up to stand beside him, shooting at the soldiers that were trying to come closer.

"Places." Steve said into the comms.

"I have eyes on Wanda and Vision. They are moving undetected." Tony informed.

"Let's keep it that way."

There was a line of soldiers running up to them. Steve just wordlessly lifted his shield and Thor smashed it with his hammer, letting out a trail of lightning. Effectively knocking them down.

"Guys! Hulks down!" Natasha's voice came into the comms.

"What!? What happened?" Steve asked as he started running to where he saw Natasha, Clint and Hulk last. Bucky and Thor staying behind to keep the enemies from following.
