Chapter 12: An Answer

Peter picked up everything Natasha taught him. He even earned the right to calling her Tasha or even мама паук after cussing at Clint in Russian. If you ask for Natasha, Bucky or Wanda's opinion on it, they would say that Clint deserved it. He was bugging Peter all day to play Mario Cart with him.

Right now Peter was with Wanda. He had just finished his dance lesson with Nat, which they decided would be every other night right after dinner. After each lesson, Peter would usually go straight to the couch or would get dragged by the kids to the play room. However tonight he found himself with Wanda.

"Have you read this one?" Wanda asked, handing Peter a book. Peter was sitting on the floor, leaning up against the foot of the bed. Wanda was laying on her stomach on the bed, her feet by the head of the bed and her head near the foot right beside Peter.

"No, I haven't." Peter said taking the book. "What is it about?"

"Some kid gains powers and meets an alternate version of himself. He then goes into battle to save the multiverse. It's good."

Peter opens the book and starts reading. Wanda get's up and walks to the bookshelf.

"How's having Vision back?" Peter asked suddenly.

"It's good. Although I'm kinda confused." Wanda admitted. Peter looks up at her and tilted his head to the side like a confused puppy.

"Confused? About what?"

"About the how he's here. Strange returned the stones to the past and Thanos destroyed the mind stone that belonged in the present. So how's Vision here with a mind stone?"

Peter paused for a moment. The only way to fix an infinity stone is either the wielder fixes it or uf every guardian is present. Peter's eyes widen and he let out a gasp. Wanda looked at him with concern.

"What is it? Are you okay?"

"I-I gotta go."

Peter rushed out of the room before Wanda could stop him.

Peter landed on the middle of a clearing in the forest. A pond in the middle of it all. He walked up to a branch and pulled on it. The center of the pond opened. Walking up to it Peter jumped right into the water vortex.

He popped out of the vortex and landed on the ground. The vortex closing. In front of the lake Peter popped out from was the house. Although the house looked different. The grass around the house was taller and the house itself was slowly looking like it had been abandoned. Suddenly the door opened and Abby walked out.

"Peter?"

"What happened to this place? I thought it was magical and never got out of shape."

"You forget that we're missing two people. The house gets worse the longer and the more they are gone." Abby said. "The day it disappears is the day we all die."

"Oh..."

"So what are you doing here?"

"I know why Hydra is looking for you guys."

"What? Really?" Abby looked at Peter with shock and relief? "Well? What is it?"

"You told me that the only way to fix a stone is if the wielder fixes it or if all six guardians are present. Since the stones were destroyed by Thanos..."

"Hydra wants to repair them."

"Yeah."

"And instead of going after the Avengers for the wielders they went for the guardians." Abby finished.

"Wait what?" Peter did a double take. "The wielders are in the avengers?"

"You didn't know?"

"No!"

'Are you that dumb?'

"Did you know?" Peter retorted.

"What?" Abby looked confused. "Of course I knew. I thought you knew."

"I- never mind." Peter said. "Who are the other wielders?"

"Well obviously there's Strange and Vision. The space stone chose Loki. Reality chose Jane and power chose Quill. Then soul chose last and it chose you."

"Oh..." Peter looked to the ground, his mind trying to process everything. "That's how Thanos got the mind stone when Wanda destroyed it and how he's alive right now."

"Yes, repairing Vision, the mind stone's wielder, brought back the mind stone."

"Okay... okay." Peter bit the bottom of his lip. "This is more of a reason to tell the avengers now. I bet you my life that Quill doesn't know about being a wielder."

"Alright."

"Power should be coming by. Get ready." A guy said. His teammate right beside him.

Suddenly a guy with brown hair that had the tips dyed blond came flying by with his eagle wings.

"Now!"

A dart was shot and hit him in the neck. The eagle hybrid faltered in the sky but didn't fall. He grabbed the dart and pulled it out. He stopped and shook off the sleepiness. He looked around and spotted the two goons.

"The net!"

Suddenly the eagle hybrid was trapped in a net. He fell to the ground with a crash. Two men he saw came closer along with two others. One of the guys took a syringe out of his pocket. The hybrid tried to escape and thrashed around. He was unsuccessful however as the guy injected him.

"Load him up."

Right before he lost consciousness he let out a screech. Somewhere in the distance a fox with monarch butterfly wings heard his calls.

"Daniel..."

Meanwhile back in the Avengers Tower, Wanda had entered the penthouse. Peter had just left in a rush and she was worried. When she exited the elevator and entered the penthouse she saw that Quill, Steve, Tony, Natasha and Clint was in the room. In the kitchen was T'Challa, Sam and Thor.

"Wanda?" Clint said once he saw her come out of the elevator.

"Have any of you seen Peter?" Wanda asked.

"No? Why? Did something happen?" Tony asked, now alarmed.

"I don't know. One moment we were talking then the next he bolts out the door." Wanda states. "I don't know where he went or what went inside his mind. He ran off before I could stop him and before I could read his mind."

"What were you guys talking about anyway?" Sam asked.

"The infinity stones. More specifically the mind stone and how Vision is alive with it. Considering how our mind stone was destroyed by Thanos and Strange returned the other one."

"Is that kid hiding something again?" Quill pointed out.

"Again?" Natasha raised an eyebrow.

"While you guys were in the soul stone, Peter hid the fact that he was Spider-Man from us among other things." T'Challa explained.

Tony let out a laugh, "Yeah, that sounds like Peter. He's known to have the most secrets in the entire world."

"Wonder what the young Parker is hiding this time?" Thor said, taking a sip of his beer.

"What ever it is, I'm sure he'll come to us. Eventually." Tony added the last part.
