Chapter 29: To Control

"How much longer do we wait, sir?"

"Not long."

"Sir, how do you know he'll pick the right option?"

"Because, like all superheroes, the lives of others are more important than their own. He won't have a choice unless he wants them to die."

"Right, of course."

"You're sus!" Shuri yelled at Peter.

"What!? How am I sus!? If anything, you're the one who's sus!" Peter retaliated.

"I am Groot?" 

"I had download at the top of cafeteria and then trash shoot right beside it. I went to admin to the upload and the wiring. Then you found Ned's body." Peter finished. "How about you, Shuri? What tasks did you do?"

"I did asteroids, then went down to O2 to do the leaf task. I had a download in Nav and I am in storage going up to admin." 

"Harley," MJ started. "Did you do your swipe card?"

"Yeah, I did."

"When?"

"At the beginning of the round."

Everyone stared at Harley. Before MJ snorted. "Harley's the imposter."

"What!? How!?"

"We don't have swipe card." MJ stated.

"I- uh, ugh." Harley gave up seeing as everyone already voted. When he casted his vote, and the animation of him being thrown into space came on. 

"Let's go!" Peter yelled out when the victory screen came on.

"That was a fast round." Shuri stated.

"Can you guys, like, stop killing me first?" Ned complained.

Harley laughed. "Sorry man, you were just the first one who walked into electrical."

"Note to self, never go into electrical." Ned grumbled.

The other five fell into a fit of laughter. Steve walked in and smiled. He knocked on the door frame. The laughter slowly stopped and six pairs of eyes turned to the man out of time.

"What's up?" Harley asked.

"Thor just brought in the reality stone." Steve informed them. "We're calling a meeting right now."

The mood became somber. 

Ned coughed. "I better be going anyway."

"Same here." MJ agreed.

"Okay, call you guys later!" Peter waved to Ned and MJ and ended the video call.

The remaining four got up and followed Steve to a conference room. When they arrived, Steve went to stand at the head of the table, Groot joined the other guardians, Shuri stood by her brother and Harley stood at the door with Rhodey. Peter walked up to Tony. On the table was a rectangular container that was glowing red inside.

"Is that...?" Peter pointed to the container.

"The aether. The reality stone is inside." Steve confirmed.

"How'd you get it?" Clint asked Thor.

"Jane said that the remains of the stone appeared to her in a dream. She did not think much of it when nothing happened after a week had passed." Thor said. "Of course, when I went to visit her to claim the stone, I had to watch as she summoned each piece and put the stone back together."
