Injection

Chapter 8: Injection

"What did they do to you this time?" A young Peter asked. He was roughly five years old. Peter was sitting in his 'room' that he shared with Abby, Jason and Dawn.

"I don't know, they injected some sort of orange liquid in me but I don't think it worked cause they said it was a fail." A five year old Abby said. Her white wolf part present.

"Orange? I thought you were called Albino, for white?" Peter asked but Abby just shrugged.

"I got an blue liquid in me but it also a fail." Jason responded sitting on the top bunk above Peter. He jet black hair with sharp blue eyes. His black panther tail swishing from side to side.

"Mine was green, and again, it was a fail." Dawn stated. Her orange fox ears sat on her ginger hair. Her grey eyes darting to the door and back to Peter as she sat on the bottom bunk below Abby.

"I think I saw a vile with red liquid that had Ashley's name on it. As well as a vile with yellow liquid and a vile with purple liquid with Hayden's and Daniel's name on it." Jason said.

"I wonder what's that for. Do you guys feel any different?" Peter asked.

"No, but a faint pull in a certain direction but it's so weak that I can barely feel it." Dawn stated. Jason and Abby agreeing.

Peter swung through the night. He got a call saying that someone found a lead on Hydra's whereabouts.

"Hey A!" Peter greeted Abby on a building. "So what's up?"

"Jason and Daniel found something that looks like Hydra's doing. We're tasked to find out if it is."

"What was it?"

"There was a weird magical shift. It was slight but Jason felt it."

"Just him?"

"Well yeah, he felt the space stone for a brief moment before it disappeared."

"The space stone? But didn't Strange return all the stone and Thanos destroyed the ones that were from our timeline."

"Well yes, but it's Hydra. They might have found a way to get them back. Plus Daniel saw a bright blue flash at Central Park." Abby explained.

"And no one noticed a bright blue light?" Peter raised an eyebrow.

"Oh no, people noticed. However when the police didn't find anything people left it an eye trick."

"Alright, where too?"

"Central Park." Abby answered as she took off. Peter quickly followed and was swinging right by her. The two landed at the centre of Central Park.

"Sooo.... what are you looking for?"

"To see if there is any evidence that Hydra was here or see what they were trying to do."

Peter looked over the large lake. He couldn't see much from where he stood so he sent Droney to scan the lake. Waiting for a minute or two. Droney sent Peter what it was seeing.

"Woah." Peter said. "Hey Abby? I think I got something."

Abby flew over to where Peter was and landed.

"What is it?"

"There's something there."

Abby flew over the lake and stopped at the centre.

"Darn it, of only Hayden was here. He could easily dive down to see, with him being half otter." Abby sighed.

"Can you feel anything though?" Peter asked.

"It's faint but there's some sort of magic?"

Peter looked around, suddenly something caught his eye. Bending down, Peter picked up a red band. Looking over it Peter's heart dropped.

"Uh, Abs?" Peter called over his shoulder.

"Yeah?"

"Hydra was here and if this doesn't prove it then I don't know what will..." Peter turned around and showed Abby the red band that held the very familiar skull octopus logo.

Peter was yet again found alone in the lab. He was looking through file after file that he found that either had Hydra's name or their symbol. Peter had spent all morning, trying to find something, anything. Suddenly something came up. Peter clicked on the file but it wouldn't let him. It just kept crashing. After trying about 3000 different ways to get into the file, Peter finally managed.

Peter skimmed over the text and realized that it was a device that can replicate anyone's or anything's power aura.

"In order to copy a power's aura, the device needs a personal item or part of the person/thing." Peter read out. He continued and it just explained what the device was. That was until the last sentence made his blood go cold. "In the series of unfortunate events, Hydra will be using this device to lure and capture the infinity stone guardians."

Not thinking Peter quickly called Abby, praying she would answer.

"Come on come on come on." Peter said pacing.

"Peter?"

"Abby! Did Jason feel the space stone again?"

"Yeah? He said it was stronger and went to go investigate."

"Oh no."

"Is this even gonna work?" A guy asked, he was wearing all black, head to toe. The only colour was the red band around his arm.

"Yes this is gonna work." Another guy said.

"I don't get how. It didn't work yesterday."

"It did work, the power just needs to be a bit stronger. He became the guardian of the space stone. When this works this should lure him to us. Then we can get the next guardian."

Guy 2 pressed the button on the remote in his hand. A light blue flash of light was activated. The guys waited until there was a rustling in the trees. Someone with black panther parts with black feathered wings can out of the shadows.

"Now!" Guy 2 whispered shouted.

Guy 1 shot a tranquilizer dart. It flew through the air and hit it's mark. Jason stumbled back, he grabbed the dart from his neck and pulled it out. He scanned the area, his eyes landing on the two men in the bushes. However the tranquilizer started to take effect. Jason's eyes rolled back and he dropped.

"Load him into the van, I'll report back to the base. We got to hurry, he's not gonna stay knocked out for long."
