Chapter 40: Card Swipe
"Karen, speak." Peter called out.
"Hello, Peter." Peter sighed in relief when he heard her.
"Karen, I need you to activate Droney."
"On it. Activating Droney."
Peter watched as the small robotic spider come out of the center of his suit.
"Karen, I need you to take Droney and find a way to cover the camera as well as get the remote so I can get out of this stupid chair."
Peter watched as Droney flew up to the camera and spread webbing on to the camera. A feature added for absolutely no reason, just for the sake of having it. Droney then flew over to the table and grabbed the remote.
"Thanks." Droney flew down so Peter could grab the remote. Peter took hold of it and pressed a button. The bonds retreated back and Peter stood up. He walked over to the table and picked up his mask and put on his web-shooters. "Karen, where am I?"
"You are in Sokovia, Hydra Research Base."
"Okay, uh, can you locate the others?"
"Searching... search complete."
Peter looked around and saw people's body heat. "Woah, is that them?"
"Yes, Peter. The people you see are the others."
"Okay, okay." Peter ran to the door. "How can I open this door?"
Peter looked around and that's when he spotted a vent.
"Bingo."

Peter crawled through the vents. He had Karen lead him through the area. Peter crept through quietly.
"Take your next left." Karen informed him.
"Got it." Peter whispered
"What do you mean he's escaped?" He heard Ross yell out.
Peter froze, afraid that one single movement would get him caught.
"He's not in the room, sir."
Peter peered through a vent opening and saw that it was Ross and a random soldier.
"How did you not see him leaving!?" Ross yelled.
"The camera was blocked, sir. We went to check but when we got there, he was already gone." The soldier stated and Peter caught the slight waver in his voice.
"Find him! Send in soldiers to guard the others." Ross ordered.
"Sir, yes, sir!" The solider ran off and Ross sighed.
"I told you he'd escape." A mystery voice said.
Ross snarled. "Stay out of this. The only reason why you're still alive is because your still needed for the plan. What are you even doing out of your lab?"
"I heard a rumor that he escaped. Guess it was true."
"Get back to your lab and don't leave unless you were told to."
Peter heard footsteps. He listened as they faded away. Peter was about to start moving again when the mystery voice started talking.
"If you can hear me Peter. Be careful."
