Chapter 48: Possession

Peter managed to break away from the person who tackled him off the edge. He shot a web and swung himself to the ground. He landed on his side and he rolled to a stop. He propped himself up on his arms. The person landed a few feet in front of him. That's when Peter got a better look at who it was.

"Abby?"

Abby looked up and Peter's breath hitched. Her eyes were glowing a harsh orange and Peter could feel the power of the soul stone radiate from her. He cautiously stood back up. His eyes never leaving hers.

"So, lovely weather we're having." Peter said lamely. He rolled out of the way as she came at him. "Okay, so, not in the mood for small talk." Peter shot a web and pulled himself up onto a tree branch. "Come on! There's no way Hydra got full control on you guys. There's also no way they were able to fully brain wash you."

She wasn't listening and went after Peter once more. Peter swung to another tree. They kept this up, Peter trying to find a way to fight back. Peter shot a web and swung right past her. Using his momentum, Peter swung back like Tarzan on a vine, and kicked her into a tree. She went down and Peter shot a web before she could get back up.

He landed swiftly and slowly walked towards her. Peter watched as she sat there, emotionless. Unmoving. His spidey-senses were going haywire. It was like it couldn't decide if she was a threat or not. It was causing his other senses to go into overdrive. This was going to give him a terrible headache if he didn't figure this out.

"Okay, so, I'm going to assume that since I know you, my sixth sense is saying you're not a threat. Yet, you're giving off a weird vibe, not to mention you attacked me, so it's also saying you're a threat. It's not helping that the soul stone is literally radiating off of you." Peter saw something blink red before his vision blurred slightly. When it cleared, Abby was gone. "Shit."

Peter looked around and strained his ears to hear anything. Peter slowly walked around, scanning everything and anything. It was eerily quiet. Too quiet.

Peter tapped into his comms. "Guys? You guys there?"

Peter was meant with silence. He could feel his heart pick up. He took a breath and called out again. Still, nothing. Peter started to breath faster. Where'd they go? How come no one was answering him?

Peter turned around when he heard movement behind him. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears. Shuri walked into his vision and Peter sighed in relief.

"Thank god. I thought maybe something happened or you guys left or something." Peter started walking towards her.

"How could you?" Shuri said suddenly. Peter stopped.

"What?"

"How could you do this to us!?" She yelled and Peter was taken back. "This is all your fault! Everyone's dead because of you!"

"No... no! You-you're lying!" Peter yelled.

"Is she though?" Clint walked in. "Or are you too dumb to realize this is your doing?"

"Come on, son." This time it was Steve. "A true man would admit to their own faults."

"I thought you were something special. I guess I was wrong." Sam.

"I can't believe we share a name. At least I was able to save the people I care for." Quill.

Peter stumbled back. Away from them. "This isn't real. No! Th-this isn't you. This... this-"
