Chapter 43
It's been 2 weeks since I came here in LA. Of course my parents were happy to see me. My sister was ecstatic and my brother? Of course, for someone who hates me so much who would be happy to spend a month under the same roof with your enemy?
"Elmo, why don't you go out of your room? You've been in there since you came." I heard my mom said from the other side of my door.
"I'm fine, ma! I'm waiting for something." I said.
"Alright. But please go out of there son. Don't be a bat."
"I won't." I said.
I stared at my laptop and waited for her to come online. Ang tagal naman niya. Anong oras na ba dun? It's 8am here. 16 hours behind lang naman ang Philippines.
I quickly typed a message for her. Julie Anne, you told me we'll have a video call. Asan ka na ba?
Me:
Baby, where are you? I'm online already.
I was still waiting for her reply when her name flashed on my laptop screen.
"Finally!" I said before I clicked the answer button. "Baby..."
"Hi, Moe!" she greeted with that sweet Julie smile of hers. "Sorry kung ang tagal ha? Ang bagal kasi ng net ni Maq eh." she explained.
"EH KUNG I-OFF KO KAYA TONG WI-FI?! MAGREREKLAMO KA PA?!" I heard Maqui yelled from somewhere. Julie just laughed and faced the camera again.
"Grumpy bestfriend huh?" I asked.
"Yup. Di pa rin kasi sila nagkakausap ni Gino." she said.
"JULIE ANNE NARINIG KO YUN HA?!"
Julie and I laughed at Maqui's remarks. Well, if there is one brutal/funny person here, that would be Maqui.
"Gino hasn't called yet?" I asked. Julie shook her head in reply.
"Oo nga pala, sila Kuya Boyet hinahanap ka. Sabi ko wala ka dito eh. Haha. Sabi nila kaya daw pala wala ng dayo sa compound."
"Hahaha. Tell them na bibilan ko sila ng whiskey once I got home."
"Nako. Baka naman halikan na nila Kuya Boyet yang paa mo sa sobrang spoiled nila sayo ha? Yosi lang, Moe masaya na yung mga yun."
"No, baby. Okay lang. Sabihan mo din sila na once makauwi na ko, mag-iinuman na kami." I smiled. I saw her rolling her eyes kaya natawa ako. "Stop that."
"Whatever." irap nanaman niya. I saw her squinting her eyes then backed away from the screen. "Moe?"
"Yeah?"
"Umamin ka nga. Paniki ka ba?" she asked. I laughed hard and she just stared at me like I'm some crazy man. "Seryoso kasi!"
"Hahahaha. I'm sorry i just hate turning the lights on. Masyadong maliwanag. And besides, it's 8:20 in the morning baby."
"Eh bakit ang dilim pa rin sa kwarto mo? Bampira lang?" she asked.
"Hahaha. Hindi po." I shook my head.
"Siguro may tinatago ka diyan na?! Siguro may babae kang kasama tapos nakahubad pa diyan sa kama mo kaya ayaw mo mag-on ng ilaw." she asked suspiciously.
"Huh?" I raised an eyebrow. "Wild imagination day, baby?"
"Gago!" she laughed. "De. Okay lang naman mambabae ka. Wag ka lang talaga papahuli saken."
"ELMO MATANGLAWIN YANG SI JULIE ANNE!" I heard Maqui yelling. Julie looked at her and even flashed her middle finger at her bestfriend. "SAME TO YOU GAGO!"
