Chapter 27

It was half past 11 when we decided to go home. Halos kakatapos lang ng wedding celebration sa reception and because Julie and Maqui were the organizers of Maqui's brother's wedding, they were the ones left at Fernwoods to make sure that everything is okay and that nothing has been damaged.

We were already in the car and I was already driving back to her place. She was awfully quiet. Ayos lang naman since I know na pagod na pagod siya from the arrangements and the wedding itself.

"You're quiet." I said as I glanced at her. She just smiled weakly at me and looked outside the window. "You tired?" I asked. Tumango lang naman siya and heaved a deep sigh.

"Nararamdaman ko na yung pagod." she said. I extended my arm to her and massaged her nape. "Hmm..."

"Your muscles are tensed, baby." I said. She leaned her head giving me more access to her nape.

"Yeah." she sighed. "I can't even keep my eyes open." she said.

"Don't worry. Malapit na tayo sa inyo." I said. "Matulog ka muna. I'll wake you up kapag nasa inyo na tayo. Okay?" I told her and even grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it.

"Okay..." she yawned and sat comfortably, closing her eyes in the process.

I placed her hand on my lap as I continued driving. Tulog naman na siya. I smiled as I remember the words she said to me while we danced earlier. She said that I was her home. It was heart-warming. And somehow, I'd like to consider it as her way of saying that I am special to her. And she is my home too. Because I've never felt this good until the night I found her.

We reached their compound after an hour and a half. She was still asleep when I turned the engine off and I can even hear soft snores from her. I removed my seatbelt and caressed her cheek.

"Julie... Baby, we're here." I said.

"Mmm..." she shifted her head and I got a clear view of her face.

I couldn't help but to smile because of how lucky I am to be witnessing this. I mean, I've slept with her twice already but tonight's the only time that I can actually stare at her face. She has the face of an angel. Her long eyelashes are curled to its end, her perfect thin and pointy nose, her thin, pouty, red lips that's very hard to resist. I inched my face closer and planted a soft kiss on her lips. I'm sorry, Julie. I can't keep my promise. Her eyes fluttered open and she caught me staring at her.

"We're home, baby." I breathe. She sat straight and fixed her hair. "Halika na. Let's get you inside. Para makatulog ka na."

We entered their house in silence and I walked her to her room.

"Uhm... Thank you sa paghatid." she said.

"Anytime, Julie. Anytime." I answered. "Sige na. Go inside so you could rest and have a good night's sleep. I'll see you tomorrow. Simba tayo ha?"

She let out a giggle and looked at me. What? Did I do something funny?

"Wow ha. Nagyayaya ka na magsimba." she said.

"Oo naman. Basta kasama kita." I winked. She rolled her eyes at me and I pinched her cheeks.

"Ouch!" she yelped.

"Hahahaha. Wag mo nga kong irapan. Nakakainlove ka lalo." I said. She slapped my arm and even pinched my sides. "Aray!"

"Gabing-gabi na ang landi-landi mo pa." she hissed.

"Babe, walang time ang panlalandi." I said against her ear.

"Shut up. Umuwi ka na nga. Lagpas ka na sa visiting hours dito sa bahay. Bukas may paskil na diyan ng visiting hours tamo."
