One last-ditch, a new beginning.
Or so they said. But is it true though?
What if your last-ditch go wasted?
Like, it's your last chance, your last hope, and what if you put it in the wrong use? However, I know I can't keep Luke waiting. It's not fair on him.
And I wasn't that cruel to let such a great man suffer from my weird-ass dilemma.I swear I got like a million question running through my brain. From the silly and barely-makes-sense one to the serious one, from "will he take hold and never let go?" until "what's he gonna think about Keegan?"
Fuck, I just remember that I didn't tell him I got a kid already. How could I forget that?
I can barely sleep this past few nights and all because of that blonde beauty. Michael and Calum start to question my behaviour, even Keegan did too but I tried my best to make up my fucking mind before I let anything spilt to them.
It's a now or never thingy, the life or dies kind situation. I got a long-term plan with short-term fixes and a wasted heart that just eclipses. I've pushed my luck from trust to dust enough but I think I might push my luck with him. Just one more time, one last-ditch.
This surprise ending I'm depending on, I swear it better be something good or else I'll be completely and utterly damned.
Now, before our hope is lost, let's give him a call.
I fished out my phone, quickly dialling his number. I waited for a few seconds before his sweet voice filled the silence,
"Ashton?"
"Hi, Luke,"
"Hey, how're you doin'?"
"I'm good, kinda nervous but I'm okay,"
"Why are you nervous? Oh, wait, is this about the date?"
"I... yes,"
"Are you sure you're ready? I could give you more time if you want it,"
"No, Luke, I... have made my mind,"
"Okay... and?"
"Are you free this afternoon? We could go to lunch or something,"
"I got an hour for lunch, are you sure you prefer lunch over dinner? Or we could go this weekend instead?"
"Which one do you want?"
"Me?"
"I've made you wait for so long, that's just fair if you decide now," I said, clearly noticing the surprise in his tone.
"Am I being selfish if I ask you for this lunch and the weekend?"
"No, you deserve it. In fact, it would be so selfish of me if I decline that," I heard him chuckle from the other end before he starts speaking again,
"Alright then, where are we heading this afternoon?"
"Lazy Daisy?" I asked him hesitantly.
"Alright, what time?"
"What time is your break?"
"12 but usually I get held back a tiny bit,"
"Alright, I'll meet you there at around 12, yeah?"
"Yeah, but sorry if I'm late,"
"It's alright, I got it,"
"Okay, bye Ashton,"
