As soon as we're back in the car, Keegan keeps going on and on and on about the time he spent with Kira and Eudoria. He even said that the shy girl opened up to him and talk more and freely. She even lent him her beloved panda and granted him permission to carry her back to the dining room when Mrs Edwards called them for lunch.
What surprised me the most was the fact that Eudoria ran up to me and hugged me so tight when we were about to leave. She whispered out the softest 'thank you' I've ever heard before giving me her flower crown. Not to mention that Kira was clinging onto me as well, chanting thank you's again and again. The smile on their face was so wide and sincere that it lights up their whole face.
"Hey, Kee..." I began carefully.
"Yea?"
"What do you think about having a sibling?"
"What do I think? Hm... I'm not so sure but I know I'll love them with everything in me and be the greatest brother they'll ever have. Why do you ask?"
"What do you think about the twin?"
"Kira and Eudoria?"
"Yeah,"
"They're cool. They're so smart and kind. They care towards each other a lot and I think that's cool because they're still a toddler yet they're so protective of each other,"
"You like them?"
"I love them," Keegan proudly said.
"So what if I... you know... Adopt them to be a part of our family?"
"Really!? You could do that!?"
"Eh? If you agree, yeah, I could do that. I just need to give Mrs Edwards a call and prepare the necessities and then we're all set."
"Yes, yes! Pretty please, yes!" His response was way too excited for my expectation, I didn't think he would agree in this instant.
"You're completely fine with it? Like... not bumped at all?"
"Bumped? Why would I?"
"You know... you're used to be the only child, having all of my and other people attention on you and only you but you know, if you have a sibling, or siblings in this case, their attention won't be only at you. You okay with that?"
"Will you still love me the same?" He asked, completely throwing me off guard.
"What? Of course, I would,"
"Will you promise to treat the three of us all the same and as equal as possible?"
"Of course I will, I could promise you that,"
"Then I'm okay. I'm sure Uncle Mikey and Cally would be the same, even Luke too,"
"Talking about Luke... do you- do you think he'll be okay with this?"
"About you having another child?"
"Yeah..."
"I think so. He seems like a family type of guy anyway. Are you guys back together again now?"
"No... not yet. I was just asking if... just in case he... you know, come back to us and we're together again,"
"He never leaves, you realise that right?"
"Uh? What do you mean?"
"He never leaves. He's still there. It was us that left him," I sighed at my son, briefly glancing at his worried but sincere eyes before looking back at the road.
