It took me a while to finally gather myself back to my feet and stop running around like a headless chicken. And today's the day when I decide to finally stop being a dummy and take full responsibility for my choice.

No, there's nothing special about today, I just finally feel like it and have enough motivation and courage to face the fucking truth.

"Keegan, you ready yet?" I yelled out from my room, hands messing with the untied tie around my neck as I was trying to slip my shoes on as well. I failed, miserably.

"Yes, dad! Just in a bit,"

We were supposed to go to his new school today, getting his new schedule and other necessities that he might need before his first's class the following Monday. Afterwards, we're gonna go to the orphanage that we're volunteering as a philanthropist. The placed was owned by the same woman that owned Keegan's place back in Las Vegas, hence why the place was linked to a contract with my new company.

My company, that still sounds weird to me. I can't believe I got my own company just because I could boost up the previous companies income more than expected and make it even bigger than it already is. But what makes it even more unbelievable was the fact that the previous company was the one that almost stained my name years ago but now they gave me a building that I could call my own out of recompense.

"Dad, I'm ready!!!" Keegan's high pitched voice echoed from somewhere in the house. I turned my body around just right on time when his head popped in. Did he run?

"You excited?"

"Yes! Let's just hope no one would be a meanie,"

"You know that's like... unavoidable. Everywhere you go, there must be some meanie,"

"I know, but I mean it like let's just hope I won't have any encounter with them,"

"We're going to an orphanage afterwards, you wanna take along?"

"'Course, it's been so long since I went to one,"

"You remember Mrs Edwards?"

"Um... the great lady from my orphanage back in Vegas?" He asked with head adorably tilted to the side in confusion.

"Yes, you'll see her again there,"

"Is it owned by her too?"

"Yupp,"

"I miss her,"

"She misses you too, she said so when I called her last night,"

"Awe, Daddd, why didn't you tell me you were talking with her? I would love to chat too,"

"That would ruin the excitement, wouldn't it? She didn't know you'll come along and you didn't know we'll go there today," I said, a smug smirk planted on my face as my son sighed in defeat.

"Alright, you win,"

"I always do,"

"No, you don't. Uncle Mikey beat you at that game last night,"

"Don't mention it, 'kay? Let's pretend that didn't happen," I scoffed playfully causing him to burst out into a fit of giggles.

"Let's just get going," I waved him off before stalking to my car.
