"Sooo..." I started off mindlessly. Luke tilted his head up, looking at me with a furrowed eyebrow.
"So?"
"Today's the day." I deadpanned.
"Yes, and what about it?"
"I'm scared," I said, bowing my head down in shame. Luke chuckled softly at my confession before patting the space beside him. Yes, he was already in the hospital. And I was sitting on the couch nearby.
I forced a small smile to my face once I sat down on the bed, which caused him to chuckle again. I huffed out in annoyance, but he grabbed my hands and put them on his lap.
"Listen, babe; it'll be alright, okay? The doctor is a professional and he did say it'll be an easy surgery because the tumour wasn't a bad and big one. So, let's just believe in him, okay?"
"I know, but what if something happens!? I don't wanna lose you, Luke. I can't,"
"You won't lose me,"
"You can't promise me that!" I yelled out in frustration. Luke only smiled at me before he leant over to kiss my forehead.
"Actually... I could,"
"No, you couldn't," I deadpanned.
"I could and I would," He leant towards the desk beside the bed and rummage through it before pulling out a velvet box. I gasped at the box, already guessing what's inside it.
"This is not me saying goodbye, but this is me promising you that I'll come back all well and in one piece."
"Lu- I..." I clasped my hand to my mouth, silent tears slowly pouring down my eyes.
"I know. I know we've talked about marriage and our future together before and I remember your thoughts about marriage and everything around it, but I also know that I really want you to have my heart as a whole and hopefully, you'll let me have yours too. I love you with everything in me and I can't stop thanking God every day for having you trusting me even after everything. I'm so glad that I met you at that club, I'm so happy to get to know Keegan and now the twins too and have the chance to have them in my life. I'm so grateful that I was blessed with such amazing people around me that I could call my own family. But I would be even happier if you'll accept my hand and the promise of happiness that's tied to it. So, Ashton Fletcher Irwin, will you make me the happiest man alive and start this family officially with me?"
"I- I, oh my god," I burst into tears before leaping myself onto him.
"B- baby..."
"W- will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?"

It's Way Too High
FanfictionAshton always was (and still is) so picky and sceptical about the idea of "Marriage". He want his husband to be exactly what he imagines because he thought that was what he wants and he believes he needs in a man. With that being in mind, also come...
