*Brooke POV*

"Well, well." Fancy seeing you here darling."

That voice.

That ice cold voice that was in my nightmares every night.

I turned around to face the exact person I was praying for them not to be.

Those same cold green eyes.

That same straw-like ratty blonde hair.

The same stress wrinkles.

The same exact face I cringed at the sight of.

The same person that ruined my life.

The same person who I thought was in a high-securty prison in Melbourne.

"M-Mum." I croaked out, not believing my eyes.

"That would be me." She smirked.

"H-How?" I stuttered.

"Someone like me knows how to slip sleeping pills into prison and dump them in a securty guards coffee. And...'accidently' the keys slid over to my cell. Does that answer your question?" She smirked.

"N-No..." I stuttered.

"I've told you Brooke, you can't get rid of me that easily. I like revenge. And you're the one who got me to Melbourne. You're not going to like what's in it for you." She smirked.

My face drained colour at the thought of the various things she could do. So I did the first thing that came to mind.

Run.

But as I turned around to run, I hit against something as solid as a wall. I looked up and saw a huge bulky man, he was hugely tall too, and the widest shoulders I've ever seen. His face wasn't visible under a ski mask, but the singlet he wore showed his arms. Huge, muscly, toned, dark skinned arms covered in tattoos. He wore dark blue baggy jeans, black combat boots and a lare silver chain around his neck. He had a whole to reveal his eyes in the ski mask, and I saw that his eyes were a dangerously angry black colour.

I tried backing up from where I was knocked to the ground, but as I backed up I hit against her legs. o bolted up straight away.

"Sad thing really, lover boy isn't around anymore to save you." She pouted as she played with her frayed lock of hair.

"H-How did you know?" I stuttered.

"I know everything about you. You've got your little group of friends; Michael, Luke, Calum, Ashton, Charlene, Shay, Amy and Tyrone. You and Michael were best friends ever since the age of 3. You two had a disagreement after I was taken away. You two weren't besties anymore. Poor Brooke got depressed. And then, poof! Michael was back, after he sang you the song 'The Only Reason'. You two fell helpleslly in love. And then he cheated on you. And you broke up with him. And he's a mess, did you know? He feels guilty. So guilty that it's driving him to self harm. He thinks he's a fuck up to the world. He thinks about what life would be like without him. How oblivious that Brooke doesn't see jow much he loves her. How bad he wants to fix that mistake. How much he fucked up." She smiled sickly.

My heart shattered to a million pieces. Is that what I made him feel? Is he self harming again? It was all my fault?

"How did you know all that?" I asked her, trying my best to ignore this huge guy's stare on me.

"I do." She said simply. "Hmm...not looking well, I see? Maybe it has something to do with the insomnia, or lack of food you consume, and the limb pains? But, as if I would give a shit."
