Chapter 1
“Tss, you're in deep thoughts again. Stop it, Wel. Your sighs and gloomy face annoyed me.” A deep husky woman voice awakens my mind in reverie. I saw a candle-like middle finger pointed on my forehead.
Oh, I almost forget my twinkling bestfriend. We planned to stay in Lana's Steam Place tonight yet here she is helping me pack my things. Parang ang layo talaga ng pupuntahan namin eh halos di nga umabot ng 500 meters ang layo nito mula sa bahay namin. At talagang tingin niya sa akin ay parang bata, ah. Natatawa na lang ako sa naisip.
Pero nang makita ko muli ang daliri niyang nakadikit sa noo ko ay agad akong nainis.
“Dang, Starley! Don't ever put that middle finger of yours on my face. Tsk! Sinabihan na kita noon diba.” I grimaced and slap her hands away. Tumayo ako at pinamaywangan siya.
She sat on the bed and crossed her feet like a queen who owns my not so big pink room.
“Tss, OA nito.. My finger is holy like me Souhaila!” she mumbled and rolled her eyes at me.
Whenever I called her whole cute name. She gets pissed easily and did the same to me also.
“Weh? Baka kung saan mo pinanghawak yan! As if I know!” I started to tease her. Her mad face is a pretty scenery.
She glared at me. Tahimik akong tumatawa sa aking isipan. Kita mo to, pikon talaga eh.
“I am not a lesbian, Lopez. Uulitin ko lang sayo baka nakalimutan mo.” She does her poker face again and continued. “Nahahawaan ka na talaga ng baklang iyon! I told you not to listen to those nasty bullshits coming out from his mouth. Tss,” ani niya at nagsimula ulit na pumili ng aking mga damit sa kama at ipinasok sa aking may di-kalakihang backpack.
“Hoy! Isusumbong talaga kita kay Sun. Makikita mo, iyan ang dahilan eh kung ba't di kayong dalawa magkasundo. Haha!” Lumapit ako sa aking bintana at isinarado ang mga ito.
As usual, wala akong narinig mula sa kanya. Kapag nasa bad mode talaga ang isang 'to ay hindi na makakausap. Parang hangin na lang ang kasama ko.
“Why the hell did you bring this..this scanty bikini Wela?!”
I almost jumped in place when I heard her sudden loud voice.
“We're not going to the beach. It is a damn steam place. And, what is this tight dress doing in your bag?!” usal ulit niya at naiinis na hinalungkat ang aking bag. Itinapon niya balik sa kama ang aking ilang damit.
Well, that is just a part of my scheme. Ang inisin siya! And I succeeded. Ang galing ko talaga. This scenario was quite a mundane for us every weekend.
Humalakipkip ako at tiningnan siyang pumipili ng maaayos kong damit. Honestly, I am so lucky to have her as my friend. She's like a big sister to me even though we're at the same age. Nanotice ko na over-protective talaga siya sa mga taong malalapit sa kanya.
When I arrived here in this place two years ago, I remembered it clearly how I was being chased by Salvie’s men up to the city of Fuego Aires. I thought they gave up on chasing me but they still did. Fortunately, I spotted a big cargo truck with a big name painted in a teal blue on its side.
