Chapter 31
And the first time I arrived here ten months ago, I was in awe when I realized that this was actually their main branch cuisine.
La Grande Table is a refined restaurant in the remains of the old Portuguese fortress on Casablanca’s coast. You can dine on fresh and tasty seafood while enjoying the breeze in the green and leafy garden, or head into the air-conditioned dining room and admire the views through the large floor-to-ceiling windows. Although famous for fish and seafood, La Grande Table also serves an assortment of Moroccan cuisine, including tangines, brochettes and pastries.
There's also a lot of Filipino communities here. The reason why I didn't feel any homesickness.
Karim is Tita Alena and Tito Omar's son. And he's two years older than me.
“Saleem! (Hi!) Mmm.. Shno smituk? (What's your name?)” A tall guy with a big innocent eyes wearing a brown-striped polo hoodie approached me in the counter.
He eyed me from head to toe as his gaze stop on my chest area.
I noticed Isah grinning at me while raising her eyebrow.
She's at it again. Teasing me whenever some Moroccan men approached and hit on me.
“Wash katahder Benaglizia o Balaarbia? (Do you speak English or Arabic?)” he asked again with a curious smile on his face.
Hindi ba to susuko?
Well, he looked harmless and friendly.
“Ahh, tanhder Benaglizia (Yes, I do speak English),” I paused. “ahm.. but I'm not really good in Arabic. Y'know.. shwiya (a little),” wika ko at nahihiyang tumingin sa kanya. I even emphasized the word ‘little’ with my thumb and index finger.
She crossed her arms making her looked strict in a sexy way.
She has this attractive green eyes plus her subtle smile. Karim was so lucky to have her.
“Are you still hitting on my cousin Obeid? How many times do I have to tell you that she has a boyfriend in the Philippines.
