Self Interview

I should probably name this book as a note book (ooo, you see what I did there)

Ok serious

You might take it as my justification or something but I think I needed to address this issue.

There are some questions I needed to answer.

Ques 1) Why did you choose a time travel girl to show Yudhishthir's character and when I wanted to write a book about him?

Ans) I wanted a person who knows the mentality of people of kaliyug about him so that she could easily judge and conclude what actually Yudhishthir was. (Am I claiming I know Yudhishthir really well? No. This is my interpretation of his character)

Ques 2) Even after being an admirer of both his wives, why did you choose a third one?

Ans) I admire Devika and Draupadi both, yes. But the reason of choosing a third character was I don't know character traits of devika and draupadi really well and I don't want to touch or tarnish their characters. I wanted a different prospective of Mahabharata and it's characters.

Ques 3) If you didn't want to tarnish their characters, why did you show devika and draupadi as negative?

Ans) First and foremost, I wanted to show that they are humans. That they have negative traits to some extent like jealousy and stuff but they are so well controlled that they have the ability to judge themselves and stop and improve. Normal people don't have that ability.

Also, I never showed Devika as a negative person. Her meeting with Aahana had a reason for the further plot.

Ques 4) Why did you pair Yuyutsu and Devika?

Ans) *facepalms*
*digs a well and dies*

I don't know who made the assumption that I'll pair Yuyutsu and Devika. They are going to emerge as very close and good friends that is necessary for the further plot and book.
Conclusion: I AM NOT PAIRING THEM

Ques 5) If you dislike Karna (yes I do) why did you put him on the positive side?

Ans) Yes I dislike karna very much for his deeds. But we all know that he was also manipulated and bound by his so called dharma. I just bought him on a positive side WHILE I also balanced his dark side with Ripudaman on kauravas' side.
P.s. His character is elaborated and justified in Eclipsed.

Ques 6) Why did you pair Draupadi and Karna? Do you ship them?

Ans) NO

I do not ship them.

I paired them for the plot. Aahana put forth the condition of Yudhishthir not marrying anyone because she couldn't adjust to the fact. To some people this condition maybe right to some wrong. I am personally neutral about it. (we can see what happened in dyut in my book then)

Draupadi was meant to marry 5 men according to some vow. Now, there are many different forms of this vow.
1. She demanded for a perfect husband. As one person cannot be perfect, she got a boon of 5

2. She demanded for a husband but 5 times and hence got the boon.

So I considered the 2nd one in my book.

It is said she had elements of wives of demigods whose son she married. In my book the wife of yam's element was not there making it a completely fictional scenario.

P.s. This is also further explained in the further plot why and who Draupadi actually is. And how Karna and Aahana are actually fit into the picture WITHOUT changing the couples yet changing them.

Ques 6) Are you trying to portray other characters as negative just to prove Aahana as the perfect person?

Ans) I don't think there is more flawed person than Aahana here in the book.
Proves:

1. She has a habit of wishing for things that make her loose a lot of things (you'll see that in future too and her vow of one wife only)

2. She gets jealous and possessive (you may not consider it a bad trait but if you consider devika negative here, these traits of Aahana would bother you too)

3. She has a habit of overthinking which almost resulted in killing herself

4. She has a habit of going numb in situations which require immediate action and calm mind.

There are many but I can't reveal the plot now.

Ques 7) If your book is fictional, how will you glorify Yudhishthir?

Ans) I just tried to understand his character a bit and made a picture in my head. Then I figured how he would've reacted in certain conditions and scenarios. This is how I built this book.

I don't know why I wrote all this, I really don't.

I know I'm not answerable to anyone but I did it for myself.

The sudden friction among writers and readers is not right.

Fiction.....well everyone has given the definition of fiction so I don't have to give it anymore.

My favorite reader's account (yes I have one favorite reader) her account is deleted and I'm saddened by that.

All I can say is, I wrote the book as a complete work of fiction, not as a tool to disrespect anyone.

I get it some people dislike this canon pairing and changing history and stuff. So all I can say is I do not intend to hurt or disrespect you.

All I can say is do not read my book. That's all.

I started writing for peace of my mind and not to gain more mental pressure than I already have.

So, I am taking a break.

Don't worry, I am fine. Just some words and comments sadden me.

I will be back soon as I am a person who can't take long breaks.
