Naruto vs Itachi

Itachi's eyes widened when he saw me. "(Y/N)..." He was awestruck.

I gave him a soft smile. "Hello, Itachi". He tried to take a step towards me, but when he did, I stepped back to try and maintain some distance between us. "I'm sorry, my love, but so long as you're under his control, I can't risk letting myself near you". Everything inside me was screaming to run towards him, to wrap his arms around him and never let him go again, but I knew I couldn't take that risk.

Itachi gave me a proud smile at my newfound maturity.

Itachi and I stared at each other in silence. He was the first to look away when he turned to Naruto. "Naruto, there's something I must ask you".

Naruto straightened up. "That reminds me, I have stuff I wanna ask you too".

That's when I snapped back to reality. "So do I".

Suddenly, both Itachi and Nagato straightened up and I knew they were being controlled again.

"Get back!" I yelled, putting my arm out to keep them behind me. I noted him doing the hand signs for the Fireball Jutsu, so I countered with my own.

The Itachi in front of me disappeared in a puff of smoke. I activated my Sharingan and saw he had appeared above us. I leapt into the sky to meet him halfway. "Where's Sasuke?" he asked as I dodged his attack.

I shot him an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, but Sasuke's joined the Akatsuki. He even vowed to destroy the village".

His eyes widened. "Why did he turn his back on the village?"

"He knows the truth about the massacre. Madara told him everything. Now he wants revenge against the elders. Madara also told me the truth about my mother, and I know about Seiichi". We landed on the ground. "Why didn't you tell me any of this?"

"I can explain..."

Before he could, Naruto intervened. "Madara told me the truth too".

I whipped my head towards him with widened eyes. "He, what?"

He turned towards me with a nod. "He also told me the truth about you. Is it true you practically lured Sasuke to the Five Kage Summit so he could kill Danzo?"

A shadow crossed over my eyes. I kept my gaze on the ground, refusing to look at anyone. When did Madara have time to ruin my plans?

When I didn't answer, Naruto turned back to Itachi. "Is what he said actually the truth or isn't it? Was the Uchiha clan really going to take over the village?"

I was glad Naruto didn't push it, otherwise I might be forced to tell them everything.

Itachi cut him off before he said too much, which only made Nagato, who knew nothing, more curious.

Naruto didn't stop. "Itachi, you made yourself look like the bad guy in order to save Sasuke and (Y/N) and the whole Hidden Leaf Village".

I clenched my fists at the mention of my name.

"Sasuke understands all of your pain, and your resolve to do what you did. But Sasuke isn't like you or (Y/N), he's really going to destroy the Hidden Leaf. He's going to kill everyone to avenge the pain that the village caused his older brother that he loved so much".

Itachi narrowed his eyes. "Does everyone in the village know about this as well?"

"Kakashi Sensei and Captain Yamato heard it when I did, but there wasn't any proof of what Madara told us, so Kakashi Sensei said to keep quiet. I don't think there's anyone else that knows, though".
