[Flashback: 'Lando, it's over! Please grab your things and go. Not only that I'm feeling unhappy with you around me, also the children are sad and that's not good. Think about your behavior and what's more important in your life. Career or family.']

And then Lando moved out. You two broke up and your kids were as unhappy as before. He didn't even congratulate them on birthday, didn't wish a Happy new year, not a Merry Christmas. Nothing. He was only focused on his racing. The children still watched every race of him, hoping he would appear again in their lifes. But he didn't. You struggled with working, trying to fulfill the kids' dreams, paying the bills... You just had the wish to have a happy life again. Of course you would like to talk with Lando, to be honest you still loved him, but it was his turn to apologize and showing interest in building up contact with his family again.

It was "race sunday" again. You and the kids sat in front of the Tv, watching Lando achieving his first win in F1. You were happy for him as you knew how much he struggled the past years in this career. The kids were screaming of joy, they still loved their father even if he acted unacceptably in the past. At the press conference, he was asked if he would dedicate this win to someone. He had to think a few seconds, before answering 'Yeah... I know I can't fix everything I messed up in the past but I want to dedicate this one to my kids. I can't apologize enough because I acted like an idiot. It's a private thing what happened but I just want to say that I'm now "old" enough to decide. (Y/N) I'm sorry, I'm really sorry. I love you. I chose the answer. Career or family. And my answer is family. I was only focused on my career the last years and I forgot what is really important in life. I'm... I'm so sorry' He had tears in his eyes and you and the kids were almost crying, too. 'Does this mean that daddy is still thinking about us?' your son (Y/S/N) asked you with eyes filled with the hope that his father would come home again. 'I think so' you answered, still unsure if the words Lando said were true or if he just said it to gain attention.

Late in the evening, as the kids were already sleeping, you had a new message on Instagram. You heart was almost exploding as you saw that Lando tried to send you a message. You opened it and he just asked for the allowance to call you. You struggled with yourself. Sould you give him a chance? Or not? You wrote him back, allowing him to call you. You couldn't breathe that nervous you were. Then he called you. You pressed the green button, saying only "Hi Lando". He told you how sorry he was and that he didn't realize what he had done to you and the kids until the pressure of winning his first race disappeared. You talked a bit him, making clear that he should only have contact with the family if he really would have changed. You offered him to call the kids because they really missed their father. But you told him, too that you couldn't forget what he did. He was happy for being given a second chance and to be honest, you felt like the "old Lando" would be back. He sounded sure in his decision for the family and against only focusing on his career.

After a lot of calls between him and the kids and between you and Lando you gave him the chance to see his children again. The kids couldn't sleep the whole night, happy and really looking forward to see their father again. And you were happy, too even if you knew that you couldn't forgive him but you tried to gain trust in him again as he really tried to make it better now.

He arrived with his car and your daughter started running to the door together with her brother. They asked you for the allowance to open the door and you allowed. "Dad!" they were screaming of joy. He smiled and you could see tears running down his face. He kneeled down, giving them a tight hug. In the meanwhile you closed the door and as you walked back you saw the kids still hugging Lando. An then you heared sobs. Lando's sobs. He was crying, now finally realizing what he had done. He almost destroyed the kids' lifes and your life, too. He cried for minutes and you kneeled down next to him touching his shoulder and showing him that it was ok. He slowly calmed down again, looking in your eyes and saying 'I'm the worst person on earth. I'm so sorry, I know I can't change the past but now I wamt to make it better.' You just answered 'I know, Lando. Use your second and last chance.' It was a long way to go until you were a family again and you didn't know if you would ever be able again to be in a relationship with Lando, but the time will tell.
