"Let's adopt this puppy!"

You and Mick were walking at the lakeshore as usual. Mick's dog Angie loved to go swimming in the lake und you were enjoying the increasing degrees in spring. You both were real animal lovers and Mick's family had many animals at home, including horses, dogs, cats and rabbits. As you were walking through a little park, you suddenly stopped. "What's wrong, (Y/N)?" Mick asked you. Angie got nervous and she nad her nose on the floor. "I think I heared some noises. A cat or a dog I think. It came from over there." You spread out your arm and tried to show Mick the direction you heared the sounds from. "Ok, hold Angie please. I will see." You took Angie's dog leash and sat down at the near bench. "Look what I've found. A little puppy! I think it's injured, so see that little amount of blood on top of the head?" Mick wanted to know as he appeared again. You couldn't deny, that was one of the cutest moments ever. Mick's dog was sniffing at the small puppy, barking friendly. "We should take her to the animal shelter, Mick. Maybe it just ran away, even if it looks like someone abandoned her." So you were continuing the walk and tried to find the nearest animal shelter, where they could help the puppy.

Soon, you had found the shelter and as you were walking inside, there were already waiting two friendly looking woman. Mick called them as he knew them. His family already rescued animals from there some years ago. "Mr. Schumacher, nice to see you again!" You all were shaking hands and Angie got a small biscuit. "Let me see the puppy, first of all it's a girl...I think the injury isn't deep. It's just a small scratch. We will care for her at least a week before we will search for a new home for the little beauty", the lady at the shelter told you both. Then you were walking home again, where you had dinner with the Schumacher family.

In the evening, your thoughts were drifting away. You had to think about the little dog you had rescued before. You always had to think about it. "Earth to (Y/N)?", Mick was joking. "Are you tired?" he was asking. "Yeah a bit but sorry. I was in thoughts..." Mick pulled you closer to him. "Tell me about it if you want" he whispered. So you decided to open up about what was on your mind. "Mick I always have to think about the small puppy we found today. She was so cute you know..." Mick was smiling and you knew that he was in love with the puppy, too. "To be honest, I feel the same way. She was so lovely. So tiny. Maybe we could think about giving her a new home? I mean my parents wouldn't bother for sure. It doesn't make a difference if there are six or seven dogs in the house" he was joking around. You had to laugh, too. "You mean that we could adopt her?" You wanted to make sure that you did not misunderstand Mick. "Yes! Let's adopt this puppy! We could visit the shelter again tomorrow."

After a delicious breakfast, you were on the way to the animal shelter again. "Oh you two again? How can I help you? The puppy is fine." You saw the puppy behing the glass door, sleeping, what made you smile. "Actually, we would like to give the puppy a new home." The woman didn't even seem to be too surprised, the just said "That makes me happy. But I knew you would do that!". And you did. The puppy had to stay at the shelter for 6 days because they wanted to give her time to get strong but then you could finally take her home.
