"Your highness! Your highness what's wrong?" Frederick went on high alert at the sight of his queen running down the stairs crying her eyes out.

As a guard, it was his duty to keep her and the king safe. She could easily be in danger.

But, she didn't stop for a single second to as much as look in his direction, too welled up in pain to see or hear.

She just ran.

"Your highness!" oh he wasn't giving up, even if he had to run after her, which he did.

He wasn't only her guard, he was her friend, and she seemed in pain.

It was only at the garden where he finally caught up with her, stepping right in front of her "Laura!"

She stopped in place, out of breath.

Now that he saw her so much more closer, her face was a rosy shade of pink, and tears seemed to be fresh on her wet lashes. Her face expression almost unreadable- hectic.

Her eyebrows furrowed in worry as a loud sob escaped, and she immediately jumped in his arms, bursting out crying for what felt like the hundredth time, but was only the third.

As her hands clenched his uniform she hid her face on his chest, and he now could feel every vibration her body was making from all the crying.

Half-confused and half-worried, Freddie did what any friend would do.

He wrapped his arms around her torso, letting her take it all out.

Hopefully it did her good.

It was quite the sight to see, especially by the one that'd been the first to chase the queen all along.

Out of breath and with tears of his own in his eyes, Ross was left speechless as he stood there, watching the woman he loved most find comfort in the arms of another man and he was responsible for her tears.

He would remember that picture too. He knew it well.

It was the moment he really felt his heart break into a million pieces, like it actually got ripped out of his chest.

He should've known. She'd always been close to Freddie, yet he'd ignored it. She said he was her childhood friend... but he was not aware on how close they actually were.

No. He couldn't stand there watching them anymore. It tasted bitter.

But maybe... maybe it was for the best.

He didn't spare not one other glace at the two before he turned around, going right where he came from, yet feeling far worse then he did before.

And letting her slip right through his fingers, once again.

A few seconds later of Laura still crying, Freddie eyed the bench at their side, and sat down- pulling her with him to do the same.

When she did she pulled away from him, looking up at the sky- more specifically her sun, and how dim it seemed that day compared to all the others before it.
