"Hey, what are you guys up to?" Calum's chirpy voice made Ross and Maisy look his way.
"Ross's teaching me archery!" Maisy giggled cutely, looking up at Calum as Ross was scrunched down beside her.
He got to his feet and nodded at his friend.
"I didn't know these were turning to weekly lessons" he raised his eyebrows, giving Ross a look.
"Well she's seeming to enjoy them so why not?" Ross shrugged slightly "Though we have been out in the sun for a while now. You should probably go and ask Sheila for some cold juice to freshen up Mais. We'll continue tomorrow alright?"
"What if you're busy tomorrow?" she pouted.
"Then we shall continue the day after that, but it's happening" Ross threw her a wink, making her smile "Now go get the juice"
"I do love juice" she noted, hopping on her feet as she made her way inside the castle.
Ross chuckled at her.
"You can always hire someone to teach her you know?" Calum pointed out "I'm surprised she even likes it so much since it's mostly liked by boys"
"I think she specifically wants me to teach her, and I don't mind" Ross shrugged "And hey if more girls tried it out maybe they'd enjoy it as much as her"
"Oh just admit it, the little girl's got your heart" he pointed at his chest, laughing.
"It's a little tough not to love her when she's absolutely adorable" Ross rolled his eyes "You up for a horse ride?"
"Hell yeah" Calum nodded, as the two made their way to the stalls.
It wasn't long until the two were on top of their horses, riding them into the woods as they always did.
"Did Aden make you show for breakfast today as well?" Calum suddenly asked, and Ross slowed down his horse, throwing Calum a glace.
"She didn't get the chance to. Woke up early to get my dutties done as fast as possible. Then when I came back Maisy asked for lessons" Ross shrugged.
"Right. Are you planning on attending lunch? Or dinner?" Calum raised his eyebrows curiously.
"I'll just secretly ask the maids to leave them in my room" Ross sighted.
"Okay seriously man you're being ridiculous" Calum laughed "You can't keep going like this. Last night's dinner was torture. Just go and talk it out"
"She should be the one to come to me" Ross's voice was strict "I shouldn't have to approach her first when I wasn't in the wrong"
"You weren't?" Calum asked, suddenly moving past Ross and instead stood in front of him with his horse, stopping Ross and his own horse in his tracks.
"Yes" Ross bit out, a bit annoyed by the sudden interruption of his path.
"Okay so maybe literally running head first into danger by herself just to look for something knowing she was the queen was kind of dumb on her part, but she did save a child that if you'd ignored the cries of for longer.. would be dead" Calum explained "You have to give her credit for how brave she was. She's more than a pretty queen on your side. What she did wasn't easy, and she did apologize"
