"I'm afraid you're losing time princess. The ceremony shall be held in about an hour, and you're not properly dressed yet" the voice of her maid startled her daydreams and she looked up to look at her from her very comfortable sitting spot on the grass that morning.
"Oh, I'm so sorry for startling you" the maid apologized again, and Laura cracked a smile.
"It's all good Lena. I was just petting Cora, but I guess she left me alone"
Cora was actually the cat that walked around the castle. Laura never actually adopted the cat, it just sort of showed up one day and stuck around, and since then it's been the royal cat, and it had a golden collar to prove it.
She had beautiful white long fur and loved to walk around all day, which meant the maids of the castle often had to wash the little thing.
Laura didn't see much of her but when she did she enjoyed every moment. She thought the cat was more of a princess then her actually, with the way she walked around so elegantly and effortlessly, with no care in the world.
"It is a very nice day today princess. I can see why you would want to enjoy the weather for a while, but we have to get you ready for the ceremony" the maid spoke again, and without anymore words Laura sighted as she got off the ground, some of the grass sticking to her white night gown.
She loved the garden in front of the castle, often coming out to spend her mornings there soaking up the sun while she read a book, surrounded by a billion little colorful flowers she tried to not pluck out, beacuse she did believe they needed to breathe too.
And besides, that would be a direct betyral to the small fairies that worked to make them grow.
Once they were inside the castle the two ladies headed for the princess' room, where the get-ready process would begin.
And while they tightened the corset around her waist, Laura stayed up straight staring at her white complaction in the mirror, trying to find any meaning as to what was happening.
"Aren't you excited princess? After today you shall be pronounced Queen Of The Sun, our Head Sourceress and leader. If your parents saw you now, I'd guarantee they would be proud" the maid who was tying her corset spoke up.
"Thank you, Jaiden. I'm sure it shall be a day to be remembered" Laura straightened her voice, gulping at herself slightly.
"Absolutely! Oh your majesty you're going to look marvelous" one of her other maids, Cheryl, proclaimed excitingly and all of them nodded.
It was a big day for the country. After both of her parent's death she was the only heir able to to take their spot, and rule the kingdom of the sun as it should be ruled.
With strength, power, and grace.
At least, that's what everyone expected of her. She was twenty five and a grown woman now.
Don't get her wrong, she had to fight for the crown, as most people claimed she couldn't be queen without a king ruling by her side, but thankfully there was no written evidence of the rule, so before she knew it, the celebrations had began.
And that day was the golden day. The day she became what everyone needed.
Thought deep in her soul, she didn't know how much she would be able to fill in the role of her parents. She remembered them as the most powerful pair and the best rulers the kingdom had ever had, and so did everyone else, so they had a lot of expectations as to what she would be.
