The man looked down at the ground, and shook his head, leaning down to grab what seemed like a very familiar small crystal to her.

It must've fallen from her dress... it looked just like the ones at the bottom of it.

She watched him smirk to himself as he clenched the crystal in his hand, and then walk away whistling without a care in the world.

Once Laura was sure he was gone, she blew out the huge breath she'd been holding.

"Jesus" she whispered to herself, readjusting her arms around the toddler.

Now she just had to figure out how the hell to get out of there.

Maybe the same trick would do the job?

From what she saw from the gate the man had completely walked off, leaving the snakers the only ones by it. Just like they were standing when she came in.

"Think" Laura bit down on her bottom lip restlessly, worried.

She then remembers seeing a huge vase outside of the palace before she ran in.

Maybe.....

"I'm going to do something to get us both out of here, but don't be scared. It will not harm you" Laura carefully explained to the girl in her arms.

She didn't care to even look at her, just squeezed her shoulder tightly.

"Alright then" she whispered, thinking long and hard back to the vase as she worked her magic with one of the hands that was no longer holding the weight of the child.

She moved it back and forth into it's golden colored aura, before she heard a huge clash from the other side of the palace.

"Gotcha" she smirked as she saw the two guards immediately alerted.

"What the hell was that?" one of them asked the other one, and he just shrugged "Let's see it. Maybe someone's trying to get in"

The two ran and Laura took her one and only chance and ran out of the gate for her life, thankfully still finding it unlocked.

She hid in the bushes she'd hidden originally, right next to the horse who was still there, and put a hand on her fast-beating heart.

Then she put the girl down on the grass, and smiled at her "We did it!"

She didn't budge, just stood there staring at the ground.

"You don't talk much do you?" she noted, looking at the girl and then leaving out a sigh.

Of course she didn't talk. The girl had probably endured so much trauma she didn't know how to react to anything.

"Let's pick you up again love" Laura murmured, sliding her arms around her again and doing just that.

At least she didn't mind the physical contact, she thought.

"This is a horse" she pointed at Moon, and then looked back at the little girl "His name is Moon, and he's our friend"

She untied the horse from the tree and with that reassurance, she smiled as she climbed back on the horse, but damn did she struggle with the child in her arms and her long gown and cape.

At the end she finally did it though, and smiled at herself as she left a light kiss on the horses neck, whispering "Take us home" in his ear.

She kicked him lightly, and the next thing she knew they were off.

She'd done it.

She couldn't stop grinning to herself. For once, she was proud.
