"Please don't embarrass me" Laura whispered at Ross in a secretive manner.
"I could never. You on the other hand-" his words were interrupted by a jab at his waist and he hissed out in pain.
The woman could be small, and look like a delicate flower, yet still manage to have some powerful kicking skills.
"Oh my dear Laura how much you've grown! The last time I saw you you were on your own and now look at you!" a woman grinned at her, hugging her and then pointing Ross out.
Ah yes, yet another 'family' member she apparently knew as a baby with no clue whatsoever of how they were related.
Aden had went all out on the list of people she wanted to invite in this special night, from both her side (which apparently her grandmother had given her all the family names she needed) and Ross's side.
It seemed like a party for the both of them, but for no particular reason.
Actually, it wasn't much of a party as everyone she knew were just walking around and sipping on cocktails, and she knew that later in the night they'd be having an extra big dinner.
Laura and Ross both found the night unnecessary, especially from the fact that they'd have to really start off the act of being together in front of people, but also because they couldn't stand rich royal snobs.
And there was many of them in the Moon castle tonight.
"Uh, yeah" Laura nodded awkwardly, having no clue what this lady's name even was. She looked about in her fifties, a bit chubby, and with black hair pinned up.
As her brain was running to try and come up with a name for this woman, she felt a big hand on the side of her waist.
First she froze, immediately getting alarmed, but then she looked back at Ross, and realized it was his hand.
He pulled her close as they stayed side by side, and looked down at her, giving her a charming smile that meant that now it was the time for the show.
She gave him an unsure smile back, feeling a bit nervous.
"Yeah we're actually very glad to have found each other. She's my everything" Ross responded with an easy-going attitude.
Lies.
She wanted to roll her eyes.
"Oh how precious! Better lock her down with a ring before someone else comes along am I right?" she started laughing.
"Oh that I shall do. Now excuse us" he nodded at her, and she bowed before Ross pulled Laura with him, still hugging her waist.
"You're not much help" he looked down at her with a pointed look, and she pouted "I don't know how to act like. This is all so weird"
"Just follow my lead and act like you're hopelessly in love with me" he explained.
"That's going to be difficult" she snorted, and he gave her a bored look "Just do exactly the opposite of what you did just now"
"Will you buy me the pretty ring and propose if I do so my king?" she batted her eyelashes at him "Wouldn't want anyone else winning me over before you could even do that now would we?"
"You're so fucking annoying" he groaned, making her giggle happily.
"How's the night going over here for the happy couple?" Aden asked, approaching her son and his soon-to-be-wife.
"Oh you saw a happy couple?" Laura questioned, looking behind them.
Ross sighted, rolling his eyes "That explains it"
