"Look! There's ducks" Laura pointed out at the small group of them approaching as they swam in the lake.

"Throw some pieces of bread for them into the lake" Ross chuckled as he stared at the cute fathery things and Laura nodded, doing just that as they approached even more.

She was actually having a good time. Ross and her had been sitting in that picnic blanket for almost an hour and hadn't argued not once. They both seemed calm and hadn't talked about anything too serious.

She actually got to find out he liked music as well! That's right, he played her a song on guitar, and she practically melted at the melody and his voice. He was actually very talented. Who would've thought?

She held a chocolate at her lips as she fell on her back, completely devouring it as she hummed in pleasure.

Ross chuckled at her and fell back right next to her, looking at her with a raised eyebrow.

"This is actually very nice" she breathed in after she ate the whole thing and stared up at the sky "I needed a break"

"I'm glad you think so" Ross responded, smiling.

"I don't hate you today" she hummed again, making him chuckle "I'll take it"

After that the two stared up at the sky in silence, just admiring the beauty of it as the sun shinned down on them way too brightly.

The silence wasn't deafening at all actually, but weirdly comfortable and relaxing as they heard the birds chirping on the trees.

"I can't hold it in anymore" Ross sighted out loud, lifting himself up with his elbow on the ground.

Laura turned her head to look at him and furrowed her eyebrows in confusion "Huh?"

"There was a purpose to this outing" he pressed his lips and she raised an eyebrow "What may it be?"

"I'll show you" he whispered, sitting down and then giving her a hand and helping her so she could sit down as well.

Laura sat patiently as she saw him look on the inner pockets of his coat, only to be holding a ring on his hand.

Her jaw slightly dropped at the sight "Oh my. It's stunning"

"I know you have no choice, but I still wanted it to feel like you did" he looked up at her, his expression softened "I want you to remember today... at least as a good day, as I'll ask you a question I'd never thought I'd ask any woman in my life.... Will you by my lawfully wedded wife and marry me?"

"Ross-" her breath cut at her throat, and small tears threatened to fall from her eyes, but she wouldn't dare let them "Well, I guess I should say yes"

"Then I guess this is yours" he smiled at her, smoothly sliding the ring on her finger.

She took a moment to compose herself as she closed her eyes and breathed in, only to open them up again.

"Woah" she slightly giggled, looking down at her band.

He smiled at the cuteness in front of him, suddenly feeling like that could've gone so much worse.

"I'm not supposed to be feeling emotional at all, especially since I was expecting it, but it somehow still feels special, and quite unreal. I'm getting married?" she questioned, looking up at him with a cute pout that then turned into into a smile "Woah"

"I'm glad you feel that way regardless of our situation. I wanted today to feel like it was yours. Maybe one day you will get your dream proposal, but just in case you won't and we last... I wanted this one to feel good too" he explained.
