"You were asking for me?" Elenor popped her head in the room and Laura turned around and nodded.

"Look" she whispered, and her nana leaned down, noticing she was pointing at the child's shoulder.

"She's a star witch" she noted, and Laura nodded.

She had the small star symbol on her shoulder, meaning she took her strength and power from the stars.

"I thought she was human at first" Laura shrugged, smiling as she continued her work on bathing the child "But she's just like us"

"That's fascinating" Elenor nodded, and then furrowed her eyebrows "Why are you the one bathing her? Do we keep maids around for nothing?"

"She wouldn't go in with the maids nan. I don't think she trust them. I mean, we already know that she won't speak. I think it might be because of the trauma, but we better have a doctor check her out soon" she explained.

"I understand" Elenor nodded "Ah poor child" she put a hand at her heart "How is it possible that she trusts you to bathe her?"

"I honestly don't know" Laura shrugged a little "Maybe it's beacuse I could hear her cry and I saved her"

"Yeah, that's probably it" Elenor looked down at the small child "What are your plans with her?"

"I don't know" Laura murmured once again "But I think I'll start searching where she comes from first. I've already alerted the guards and they're searching for clues and asking around. I especially want to know her name" she smiled at the little girl "I heard a man say her parents were killed, possibly by Snake, but I don't know how much to trust that information"

"Hopefully they're wrong. She's too young to be on her own" Elenor furrowed her eyebrows "What if her parents really aren't alive? Where are you planning to take her darling?"

"I'd like to remind you of the fact that I just said I haven't planned anything" Laura shook her head "This was all so sudden, and it's a miracle I even found her. I'm definitely not placing her in an orphanage though"

That night Ross didn't come in to sleep in bed like usual, but took one of the other rooms in the castle to spend the night instead.

Since the fight that had taken place that day the pair hadn't seen any sight of each other.

Lucky for them the castle was big enough that it was easy not to.

Though when she found out he wouldn't be sleeping with her it was like a dagger to her chest.

She blamed herself, she truly did. He'd gotten seriously hurt, and this was proof.

It was all her fault.

The worst part about it was how much she'd grown to love having him in her bed.

The way his part of the bed always smelled like his sweet scent, and how he breathed softly when he was sleeping, or how he'd hold her when she needed him the most.

It was the best sleep she'd experienced in her whole life, though she'd never admit that to anyone out loud.

She especially adored that he never once pushed her to do anything sexual even though they were sleeping in the same bed, nor did he touch her when she didn't want to be touched.

He'd been so caring towards her and she'd been so blind to it... well up until the overthinking of that night.

It was all she'd been doing.

She hadn't slept a wink, and every time she closed her eyes his face would pop up in her mind, and she'd run through all the reasons as to why she was a horrible person all over again.
