Birds chirping, the sun glistening down on her, green trees and flowers, and the bees buzzing happily.

Yes, she was yet again in her backyard like every other morning.

This time though she was checking up on the trees that stood on the side of it. They weren't too big but they added quite a lot to the view, and knowing she'd actually planted them herself and watched them grow, she loved them even more.

As two of the trees were decorative, the one that stood in the middle of them was actually a peach tree. This was it's second year around actually making fruits, and from the exterior they looked mighty delicious.

They were also one of her many favorite fruits.

Her silence doesn't last long though, as she hears noise behind her, and turns around to see none other than her future husband staring at her.

He'd dressed up well and nicely for today, but at the same time worn something more comfortable.

It was an important day.

"Is this what you do? Stare and never speak? Shall I get used to that?" Laura speaks up when he doesn't, and the corners of his mouth lift at her comment.

He slowly approaches her, and then looks down at her "I don't know. I've just been doing it a lot lately"

She raises an eyebrow at him, but then weaves him off "Good morning to you too I guess"

"Morning" he chuckles "Nan Elenor actually sent me here. She needs us for breakfast. Said it's important to have a full stomach before our trip"

She raises her eyebrows in surprise at him calling her grandmother 'nan', but ignores it as she speaks up "And she sent you instead of all the maids I have in this castle?"

"Yes" he nodded.

She raises an eyebrow at him.

"Yeah okay no" he speaks up again "It was my idea. You caught me. I just wanted to see what you were up to in the garden"

"Not much" she chuckles "I was just about to p-"

She stops talking as she reaches out for one of the peaches, but the second she touches it it turns to ash.

They both stand there surprised at the sight, and the ash is quickly cleaned from the floor as well, seemed to poof from existence.

"Dark magic" they speak in union and then look at each other.

"Has this ever happened to you?" she questions, and he nods "It happened when I went haunting. I believe shadows are hiding everywhere"

"This isn't good" she shakes her head, then reaches out for another one of the peaches. This one seems to be completely fine as she grabs it, and she stares at it curiously.

"They're messing with us" Ross grunts, looking away.

"I just don't understand" she shakes her head "What do they want? Who's sending them our way? Why us of all kingdoms?"

"I don't know. I have a quite a big library in my palace though. It holds a lot of old magic books. We can try and find some information on this when we're there" Ross suggests.

"That'd be helpful" she nods "I have a library as well... but it mainly consists of love novels and tragedies"

"Of course it does" he rolls his eyes, and she jabs at his arm for his comment.

"King! Queen! Her majesty Elenor requests your presence for breakfast immediately!" one of Laura's many maids calls out to them from the palace doors, and they both give a look at each other.
