Chapter Seventeen

Walking up to a party seemed unlike me, considering how I was dressed. I realized why Evelyn put me in this dress that was in the back of my closest for a reason now. It wasn't for me to tell my boyfriend of two years that I cheated, but to in fact get a rise out of Alec himself. The second I walked the distance of the party I felt the ground pounding by how loud it had gotten. Drunks were lounging on the grass or making out. It felt too sexual and uncomfortable. Everything always feels hot and heavy when it came to teenage parties. Nothing ever felt real, everything felt plastic and closed off.

I looked next to me and Alec kept his distance from me, unlike many times before. He was always close to me at parties, never wanting me uncomfortable but this time was different. He had distanced himself the second we could've been seen but I ended up stopping and Alec gave me that stupid look he always gives when he doesn't know whats going through my head.

"What are you doing?" he asked out loud.

"Are you afraid to be seen with me?" I waited for a response and Alec smirked and rolled his eyes.

"Your fucking joking me right?"

"Hey, you guys finally made it!" Sebastian came and instantly came over arms open before stopping and checking me out, without trying to hide it, "is it my birthday!"

Isabella slapped Sebastian upside the head and Alec instantly went towards her, the jealousy crawled deep the second they stepped away together into the party.

Sebastian stepped in closer to me and I instantly looked at him and began to realize he was tall, and muscular but nothing like Alec, who seemed like a skyscraper but with armor on. Sebastian was the sweet angel that could treat a girl with respect. I just could never date him. If anything he'd be my best friend.

Sebastian hugged me and said in a low voice, "Jealousy doesn't look good on you babe. Unlike normal dumbasses here I'm actually observant."

I pulled away and looked up at him, "learned it from the best didn't you?"

"You learn a thing or two from Alec, one things for sure. He sure lost someone pretty damn amazing," Sebastian smiled at me and it was genuine.

"Another thing you should learn then, I left him," and with that I walked away from the group and into the party.

No matter what, I made stupid choices, and one of them was in fact cheating on Will. Sure our relationship has its own rough patches but I shouldn't have kissed Alec. I just hope he'll forgive me. But if he doesn't then I'd understand.

I looked around the party and people around me ignored my existence which I was somewhat happy about, I squeezed through the crowd unnoticed as I searched for Will.

Maybe he's upstairs, this is his house after all. He might be disappointed in me not being here. Less chance to want to party I guess.

I walked up his stairs and went in the direction of his room but someone grabbed my wrist before I could go.

I turned around and saw Thomas looking at me, "Wow, you look hot," he said which made me uncomfortable.

"Thank you?" I felt unsettled and wanted to get out of drunk Thomas's grip, "Have you seen Will?"

"Uhhh maybe downstairs," the way he said it made me question the sudden shifty eyes towards Will's bedroom door.

"Hey!" Evelyn yelled and Sophie was following with Alex's hand in hers, "I was just looking for you. Thank you so much Thomas for finding her. I got so worried!"
