Chapter Thirty Two

I walked up the steps to the school and Sebastian was standing outside leaning against the brick wall not seeing me yet considering how dark it had gotten.

"Hey Seb!" I waved holding my clutch purse.

"You look beautiful!" he said, running down a couple of steps before holding out his hand for my free one.

"You can barely see me," I smiled, grabbing his hand and walking up the last couple of steps.

"That might be true but you always are beautiful," I felt my cheeks brighten.

"Where's the rest of the group?" I asked ignoring the compliment that was thrown at me.

"They are in there having the time of their life. They were going to wait for you but I told them to go ahead and that I'd wait for you."

"How sweet of you, was Alec with that girl?" I looked over at him as he opened the door for me.

"I haven't seen him yet actually. I texted him and asked if he was coming but he never texted back. Oh I did hear you got the job at Ricky's congrats. I bet Alec was pissed."

We walked towards the gym, "He wasn't happy about it but thank you! I'm actually excited for this job. Oh and the tracks, have you heard anything about that? I was going to ask Ricky about it when I was there but they got super busy so I left after."

"From what I've heard Ricky has another track less people know about so he might start it back up in a couple months. Since the cops showed last at the old track he doesn't want to make a lot of noise going around. Sometime after winter," Sebastian and I were coming up to the group now and I suddenly realized how much of a slut I looked holding Sebastian's hand after trying to get with Will last night but still trying to chase Alec. This was wrong.

"Hey, uhm," I pulled my hand out of his loose grip, "I gotta go use the bathroom real quick. I'll be back," without hearing his response I walked towards the bathroom and once I was in there I saw girls in the mirror reapplying their lipstick or fixing their hair and talking shit about other girls. This felt way too much like a teen movie.

I decided against listening to the gossip and walked out of the bathroom quickly and stood away from the party to catch my breath before talking myself into going back and smiling and having a good time without trying to make anyone fall in love with me or have me fall in love with them.

Isabella was grabbing a drink and I stood by her and grabbed a little cupcake that was out.

"Sebastian really likes you," she mentioned looking over at me.

"I know," I let out a sigh.

"I know I don't have to tell you not to hurt him because I know he already knows that you like Alec. But what I don't understand is why he continues to allow himself to try to possibly change your mind. He's trying to get his feelings hurt, I swear he's a dumbass."

"He's a much better human being that Alec is at the moment."

"Yeah I heard he's taking the girl at the party to the dance. She had a shitty personality. I was talking to him a little at the party and that bitch glared at me like he was already called for. I told him later that night that I didn't like her and he told me that I had no right to judge, annoys the shit out of me sometimes," Isabella rolled her eyes before searching through the crowd.

I looked at the entrance of the gym and saw Alec with his arm around her waist before coming in and catching eyes with Isabella and I.

I had to remind myself to stay strong and not to let my jealous rage kick in. But it was too late when they started walking towards us and she was glaring at both Isabella and I. She had no right to, no right to hate us because we were close with him. Or that he was forced to talk to me because of the fact that his father and my mother were getting married.
