Mallory watched as her grandfather went over to Noelle who was having a conversation with Liam and his parents and took her across the party to introduce her to other people.
"Aren't you going to eat?" Roman asked Mallory. "Chicken breast doesn't sound so appetizing at the moment" Mallory answered and smiled just as she saw Ezekiel walk into the party. He looked at her as he walked towards Liams table.
Liam greeted him and Mallory could tell they had made up already. They both walked towards the bar.
"Did you invite him?" Roman asked with a very hard tone. "Would there be a problem?" Mallory frowned.
"One thing is meeting up with him in the parking lot of the company and the other is bringing him to my home" Roman said through gritted teeth.
"Going abroad was the best decision you've ever taken to stay away from him, he's no good to this family. If it means doing whatever it takes to keep you abroad so you can stay away from him I'll do it" Roman added.
"Calm down. There's not much you can really do when he can travel abroad to see me" Mallory smiled when she turned to look at her father who only grew angrier and looked at Ezekiel.
Bellami walked towards her family table with Nick beside her. Mallory was about to speak but her father spoke up first, "don't even think about it Bella" Roman said as her uncle Benjamin looked at Nick.
"I can't take a seat with my family?" Bellami frowned. "You can, it's he that cannot" Roman looked at Nick too. Nick let out a small chuckle as Bellami decided to go to another table instead.
"She really does wake up every day and choose violence doesn't she?" Mallory said as she stood up and left the table. "You're no different" Roman said to Mallory. "Believe me, I'm your normal child" Mallory said as she watched people walk to the dance floor as slow songs began to play.
After a long time of meeting people Noelle finally took a seat besides Mallory to have dinner. "Exhausting having to meet people?" Mallory asked.
Noelle nodded, "especially when grandpa refers to every person he's going to introduce me too as an important associate to the company"
"They're important because they have million dollar companies that require lots of electricity. Grandpa makes them feel extra valuable and they invest in the company even more. Grandpa wins, they think they win and everyone is happy" Mallory said.
"Why didn't you ever want the company?" Noelle asked Mallory. "It's not something that interests me and I'm really not the best at numbers or negotiating with people. They can give me a small amount of money and I'll take it because of the pressure, we'd be bankrupt in less than a week" Mallory smiled.
"About what Bellami is doing, I'm sorry" Mallory added.
"She didn't force him" Noelle shrugged. "You're right she didn't, but she must've lied with something that sounded very very convincing to him."
Noelle turned to look at the table where Nick had sat with Bellami. She saw the way Bellami laughed with him. Nick could feel Noelle's eyes on him and slightly looked up to look at her just as Bellami put her hand on his chest to fix his shirt.
Noelle looked away and felt as if she had just let them known they intimidated her. She decided to eat and ignored them.
Once Mallory saw Noelle was done eating she asked her to accompany her inside.
They stepped into a room Noelle had never been in. It was a game room but not even Mallory spent time there.
Mallory closed the door behind them and Noelle saw Liam leaning on the pool table.
