"Close the door please" Mallory looked at her chauffeur who hesitated to leave her alone with Ezekiel especially after he had appeared out of the nowhere. The chauffeur who had for so long worked for them made their safety his priority. He worried because he saw the way the media followed and pushed them around, especially with Noelle. He and Noelle had begun to get along and he knew that paparazzi liked to open the car doors just to get pictures. To the chauffeur the Kline girls were basically like his daughters that he would defend at all costs.
"I know him, I'll be fine" Mallory smiled. The chauffeur nodded and closed the door behind Zeke. He walked over towards the jet where Noelle was using her phone in a bench near the office.
"You got in the car without knowing who was in here, why?" Mallory asked Ezekiel.
"I wanted to see you so I took a chance and hoped for the best" Ezekiel shrugged. "I want to ask how you know where I would be but I'm more interested in what happened to your face?" Mallory asked because she still didn't know that he and Devin had got in a fight the day before and Zeke had cut on his cheek, a busted lip, and a bruise by his jaw.
"I felt like taking boxing lessons yesterday" Ezekiel smiled.
"What are you doing here Zeke?" Mallory asked. "I wanted to see you before you left. You look beautiful and well dressed for a flight" Ezekiel smiled.
"I have places to be once my plane lands" Mallory shrugged. Ezekiel nodded and eyed her. She forgot about her ring and he got a glimpse of it and it was when reality hit him harder than Devins punches.
"Nice ring" Ezekiel grinned.
"Why did you really come all the way down here?" Mallory asked. "I told you, I wanted to see you" Ezekiel said. "Well I have to leave so if that was all you can leave too" Mallory looked him in the eyes.
"It's been eight months since we last spoke. I'm doing things right, I called the number you left in my car and have been getting help from your aunt? She said she was your aunt" Ezekiel said. "And I'm glad you're getting help to get justice, Matthew didn't really do much for you or Nick" Mallory shrugged.
"He tried but we know how they tried to sabotage his career" Ezekiel said then stayed quiet for a few seconds before looking out the window then back at Mallory. "Why him Mallory?" Ezekiel looked at her with a serious face. "And before you ask who I'm talking about I want you to know that I already know everything which is why I have these nice marks on my face" Ezekiel smiled as he pointed to his face. Mallory's face went blank.
"Did he tell you?" Mallory frowned. In her head the idea that Devin waited for her to leave to rub it in Ezekiels face was making her angry at Devin but that was just a thought, she didn't know what really happened.
"No. I saw pictures of you two and didn't think much of it. I know the media makes up rumors from pictures but Liam was honest" Ezekiel nodded as he leaned back on the seat.
"Which is why you're here now?" Mallory raised her brow. "What did you to him?" She added.
"He's fine, he left clean. Turns out he's really good at fighting. I simply underestimated him, with everything" Ezekiel nodded. "Why him? You could have moved on with anyone else but you chose him, why? I mean are you doing it on purpose because you know how much it would affect me?" Ezekiel frowned.
"I'm sorry to burst your bubble but if you're just finding out about my relationship with him it's probably because the last thing I even cared about was the way it would make you feel" Mallory looked at Ezekiel who had a serious face just like she did.
"I wanted to be happy, which is why I moved on." Mallory said after a minute of silence.
"You really didn't have to get engaged to move on and be 'happy' " Ezekiel shook his head. "It sounds more like that's not what you wanted for to happen but it did." Mallory said.
