Mallory looked down at her phone to answer a text as the car drove out of the parking lot. She watched as reporters were waiting for an appearance from her grandfather and cousin.
"They have no idea you're in this car" Ezekiel said as he looked at all the media reporters.
"That's because they're not looking for me, they're looking for my cousin who they want to drown in questions" Mallory said as she put on her sunglasses. "What her father did was pretty fucked up" Zeke said.
Mallory put her finger to her lips indicating him to be quiet.
"Are you aware of how fucking hot you look right now?" Zeke smirked. His comment made Mallory want to smiled but she held it and stayed quiet.
-Zeke opened the door to the cafe for Mallory. She stepped in and liked that it was empty since it was very early in the morning.
Ezekiel offered to order for her but she ordered herself and paid separately. She walked over to a table by the back with her chocolate chip muffin in her little brown bag. As soon as Ezekiel was done ordering he followed Mallory and sat across her.
"You know in your all white outfit we can literally go to the courthouse in this instant and get married" Ezekiel smiled as Mallory looked up to see him with a serious face.
"Or I can find someone else there that I don't even love and get married with them instead, that'd be interesting" Mallory smiled back. Zeke nodded as he still smiled, "I already told you I broke off my engagement but if you don't believe me we can go find her so she can confirm it herself. Besides it's not like what you're doing is any different, how long have you even know this Colton guy?" Ezekiel frowned.
"Don't bring him into this" Mallory was quick to respond making Ezekiel raise his eyebrows. "How long have you known him? I mean is he just a friend or is he someone you brought just to make me jealous?" Ezekiel asked.
"Get off your high horse Zeke. Why would I bring him to make you jealous when I didn't even know you'd be at the ball. Besides that's not what we are even here to talk about" Mallory frowned. Mallory could tell Zeke was bothered by the truth that Mallory was genuinely happy seeing Colton.
"You're right. So how is it that your cousin can help me?" Zeke cleared his throat and looked at Mallory with a serious face.
"I said she might be able to help you. I never assured you anything. Once she has her percentage of the company she can actually take part in every single project my father has in plan like putting the wind turbines in the land he stole from your family-"
"How?" Ezekiel interrupted Mallory. "If you'd let me finish you'd know besides it's something you'll have to speak to her about too" Mallory responded.
"So what the fuck am I doing here talking to you if I still have to speak to her, who will I have to speak to after her? Your father?" Ezekiel frowned. It's not that what made him react with his anger, it was the thought of Mallory and Colton.
"Do not fucking speak to me like that" Mallory frowned. Ezekiel was about to answer when one of the workers took them their drinks. Mallory thanked her as Ezekiel looked at Mallory. "Don't you have any manners? You could've thanked her for bringing you your drink" Mallory said to him.
"Is that why were here, to speak about my manners?" Ezekiel frowned. "No-"
"Then stop wasting my fucking time Mallory" Ezekiel raised his voice. Mallory looked at him before grabbing her drink and taking it back to the workers. She asked them to give it to someone else or to drink it themselves and thanked them before turning towards the door to leave.
