"Lets go to the park to play basketball or something" Liam said to Devin as he ate gummy candies.
"You have a basketball court in your backyard, let's play here" Devin said. "Besides didn't you say you were going to see your girlfriend?" Devin added.
"Yeah but until eight, she has work with her grandfather" Liam looked at his watch.
"Crazy how she's keeping the company, a multi billionaire at such a young age. I'm craving Ice Cream lets go get that instead" Devin said as he felt his body finally let loose now that he was more relaxed.
"About Zeke, should I tell him I mean remember how he beat you up when he thought something was happening between you and Mal" Devin was still thinking about what Zeke would think.
Liam looked up at Devin to laugh but didn't when he saw Mallory walking towards them from her car. Devin's back was facing him so he didn't see her.
Devin pointed to Mallory with his eyes and Devin slightly looked over his shoulder.
"Mallory" Liam smiled.
"Liam" Mallory answered. "Did you just get here?" She asked.
"Like an hour ago. what's your cousin doing?" Liam asked. "Don't you have her number to text her and ask?" Mallory raised her brow.
"We got in a small argument earlier for a dumb reason" Liam shrugged.
"That dumb reason being Nick?" Mallory asked. "Something along those lines" Liam nodded.
"Hi" Mallory turned to look at Devin.
Devin was leaning on his car as he raised his head to look at Mallory, "hey" he answered without smiling.
"Can we talk" Mallory said so softly. "Yeah" Devin nodded.
Liam smiled as he looked at both of them. Mallory turned to look at him with a frown.
"I'll be inside" Liam said and walked over to the entrance of his house.
Mallory waited until Liam was out of sight and looked at Devin who was still leaning on his car.
"Are you two high?" Mallory raised her brow. Devin slightly smiled.
"Maybe we should talk tomorrow or once you come back down from wherever you are right now" Mallory said finding attractive the way he slightly smiled.
"I'm high not drunk. I'll remember everything we talked about" Devin chuckled.
"Okay" Mallory nodded and looked at him not knowing what to say or if he really did know what was going on. Devin could tell she didn't know what to say and smiled before stuffing his hand into the pocket of his pants.
"Why dont we go get some ice cream and we can talk once we're there" Devin smiled.
"Sounds good but only if I drive" Mallory nodded. She was worried they would crash because of the state he was in but she had never smoked before so she didn't know what he was feeling.
"Your car or mine?" Devin asked. "I feel like driving a Bentley today" Mallory smiled and grabbed his car key.
Liam heard the car turn on and stepped outside. He walked over to Devins car and knocked on the passenger window. Devin put his window down and looked at Liam.
"Where are you two going?" Liam asked. "To get ice cream, want any?" Mallory asked Liam.
"You let her drive your car but not me?" Liam looked at Devin. "It's probably because you drive like you have to be across the city in five minutes" Mallory said remembering the times she saw him drive.
"Where are you guys getting ice cream?" Liam asked. "Cold stone" Devin said.
"Because you're stoned? I get it but me too. Get me rocky road with chunks of kit kat" Liam said before stepping away from the car.
"You know it's true that as guys you keep your cars very clean" Mallory said to Devin as she drove.
"Why do you say that?" Devin asked.
"Well because you literally have nothing that doesn't come with your car in here. Liam is the exact same thing with both his lambo and his audi" Mallory said.
Devin looked at Mallory, "maybe it's because we really like to take care of what's ours"
Mallory smiled.
Once they got to the ice cream shop they stepped in and ordered. When they got their ice cream they took a seat on the tables outside.
"Are you not going to order Liams?" Mallory asked. "Yeah before we leave or it'll melt" Devin nodded.
"I'm sorry for not texting you back" Mallory said and Devin nodded. "It's not that I didn't want to text you back, I panicked and overthought" Mallory said.
"Was the overthinking about Ezekiel?" Devin asked.
"I don't like lying so yeah it was, but it had nothing to do with wanting to get back with him" Mallory said.
"So what was it?" Devin asked. "You two are great friends. I mean remember what he did to Liam when he thought Liam spent the night with me?" Mallory looked at Devin.
"I've thought about it too. I probably should have kept to myself what I confessed to you but I didn't" Devin answered.
"I've thought about telling him that I've liked you for awhile now but as you said I don't think he'll take it to well. I know that if I was in his place I wouldn't either" Devin looked at Mallory.
"I know you're still in love with him" Devin added.
Mallory looked at Devin in the eyes and as she said before she wasn't going to lie.
"I am but I also know that we're destined to meet people who won't be permanent in our life. Zeke and I are only happy when we forget about reality and that's not what I want" Mallory poked her ice cream with her plastic spoon.
"And you think that won't be the same with me?" Devin asked. "I know it won't, there was a point before where I disliked you for being so honest and reminding me what my real life was like." Mallory looked up at him.
She then smiled and shook her head, "I'd like to try something with you but if you're hesitant I'd rather not. If it's him that worries you I get it, you two have a great bond. We can move along and continue being great friends as well" Mallory smiled.
Devin quickly leaned towards her and kissed her. Mallory felt butterflies the instant his lips met hers and as soon as he put his hand on her neck.
Devin then stopped kissing her "I want to continue being your friend but I also want to be your lover" Devin grinned making Mallory blush.
