Mallory stepped out of the white SUV as Marcus helped get her suitcase out. When he did he offered to help her take into the foyer which she thanked him for.
"My sweetheart" Eleanor said as she opened her arms to embrace Mallory in a hug as soon as she stepped into the foyer.
"Grandma" Mallory hugged her back before asking where her grandfather was. "We decided to have a movie night before Marcus notified us that he'd be going to the airport to pick you up" Eleanor said.
They walked towards their theater where in fact her grandfather was refilling up his bowl of popcorn.
"House arrest isn't that bad when you have a mansion is it?" Mallory asked.
"Well in two more years I'll finally have it removed so I can't complain" her grandfather said before walking over to hug her.
"Has Noelle arrived?" Mallory asked. "She's up in her bedroom" Eleanor smiled.
"I'm going up to see her" Mallory excused herself and left the theater. She went up to Noelle's room and knocked on her door even though it was open. Noelle had just ended a call that had to do with work before telling Mallory to step in.
Mallory hugged Noelle before taking a seat on her couch.
"How was your flight?" Noelle asked Mallory. "Alright, I tried sleeping but there was lots of turbulence" Mallory said.
"Well it's beginning to snow here so maybe that's the reason there was lots of turbulence, I'm glad its the last of the snow before summer. Are you excited to be back home?" Noelle asked.
"Very, although as soon as I stepped out of the jet I began to get nervous" Mallory shrugged.
"Why?" Noelle asked.
"I haven't been here in three years, I don't know what I'll see" Mallory shrugged.
"Did you meet anyone in New York?" Noelle asked.
"Yeah I met a few guys, none that I intended to start a relationship with. The office in New York is incredible, you did a great job at finding the architect who designed that" Mallory smiled.
"Thanks, I actually plan to go soon. I've been considering the idea of visiting my dad" Noelle nodded.
"If you think it's finally time than you should. I was shocked to even know that he decided to turn himself in and even more that they transferred him to the prison in New York and not here" Mallory said.
"Well he committed the crime in New York so he had to be imprisoned there. I don't know how he's been, so it's the reason why I want to see him"
"From what I've heard he's been okay, grandma has been giving them money for protection and he's been unproblematic." Mallory laid back on the bed.
"Okay so enough about that, do you want to go out for dinner?" Noelle asked.
"Has the chef gone home?" Mallory asked. "I think he's still here" Noelle answered.
"I'd rather have dinner here with you guy, I'm going to go ask if he can prepare us something to eat" Mallory sat up and stood to leave the room.
Mallory walked over to her bedroom first to grab a coat from her closet. She then made her way down to the kitchen and asked if they could have something prepared. She paid them double for their extra service hours.
Mallory then stepped out to the backyard balcony and walked down the stairs. She walked down to the lake to the exact point where her wedding ceremony had been. She tried to picture that day when she was scared by her grandmothers voice.
