"Where are you going? Noelle asked Mallory who had stepped down to the foyer in a gold ralph lauren dress.
"Do I look good?" Mallory asked. "Yes the dress is stunning"
"It's a gift from Devin, he asked me to wear it tonight. We're having dinner to celebrate his new place" Mallory smiled.
"Oh that's right he purchased a penthouse but Devin sure knows how to dress you, have fun I'm heading up to my room to take a bath" Noelle said and walked up the stairs.
Mallory stepped out of her house and saw Devin in a tuxedo looking extra handsome. "You look gorgeous" Devin grabbed Mallory's hand and spun her.
He opened the car door for her and closed it once she was in.
When they got to the building where Devin had just purchased his penthouse Devin held her hand as they stepped into the building. "I'm excited to see your new place, I'm so happy for you" Mallory said.
When they stepped into the elevator Devin turned to look at Mallory. "Can I blindfold you? I want it to be a surprise for you" Devin asked.
"yeah" Mallory nodded and stepped close to him so he'd blindfold her. When they got to his floor he helped her walk to his door. He let go of her to unlock his door and guided her inside closing the door behind them.
He guided her out to his balcony that had lots of space including a pool with an amazing view of the city.
He stepped behind her and continued holding her hand. He pecked her bare shoulder and leaned closer to her ear. "Ready?" He asked making her smile.
"Can I take off the blindfold?" Mallory asked.
"In a second. I have something to tell you first" Devin said and caressed her hand with his thumb. Mallory waited for him to speak.
Devin pecked her cheek so softly, "I love you" he said.
Mallory smiled but responded quickly, "I love you too" she said as she softly squeezed his hand.
She liked how that sounded and how she could actually feel it.
Devin let go of her and got in position still behind her.
"You can remove the blindfold" Devin said. Mallory moved the blindfold up and widened her eyes when her eyes came across the big light letters that were surrounded by lots of red roses, she was sure that there was more than a thousand roses there.
'Will you marry me?' Read the words. Mallory covered her mouth in shock then turned to see Devin on his knee holding up the box with a seven carat pear shaped diamond ring.
"Will you marry me?" Devin asked when she still had not answered. Mallory looked at him and he was beginning to feel insecure because he thought she was thinking of a polite way to say no.
"Are you serious?" Mallory asked with her eyes still widened in disbelief. "Is that a no?" Devin asked because Mallory's face didn't have an expression.
"Yes" Mallory answered. "Yes it's a no?" Devin asked still on his knee. "No. I mean yes I want to marry you. I do" Mallory smiled"
"Yes?" Devin asked with a smiled. "Yes" Mallory nodded. Devin took the ring out of the box and slid it onto Mallorys ring fingers.
Devin got up and Mallory cupped his face to kiss him. Devin hugged her waist as they kissed. When Devin hugged her waist she moved her hands behind his neck.
She then pulled from the kiss and looked at him with the biggest smile.
"Are you happy?" He asked. "I've been happy from the very first time we kissed" Mallory answered. She set her hand on his chest and looked at the diamond on her finger.
"It's gorgeous" Mallory said. "It had to match you" Devin said as he continued hugging her.
"I can't stop smiling" Mallory said as she turned so Devin would hug her from behind. She looked at the way he had decorated with red roses and candles.
"You have no idea how much I was panicking when you weren't answering" Devin smiled. "I was in shock" Mallory continued looking at her ring. She was in love with the ring, the guy, and the moment.
"Who helped you set this up?" Mallory asked. "Noelle and Liam" Devin said.
"I loved that it was intimate, just you and I" Mallory smiled. "I thought about doing it in front of our family and friends but I didn't want you to feel pressured with your answer just because they would be present. However I had cameras set up to capture the moment just in case you want to show them" Devin rested his chin on her shoulder.
"You're absolutely thoughtful" Mallory smiled and caressed his cheek. "Thank you for everything that you do for me" Mallory said.
"Lets take a picture" Devin said and Mallory stood in front of him showing her hand with the ring on it.
After taking a few pictures together Devin turned the camera to capture pictures of her. He took one of him holding her hand as she smiled. Then he took another of her where she was gasping with her hand on her mouth showing off her ring.
"Lets go inside, I still have to show you around" Devin kissed her hand and held it to take her back inside. Mallory liked the taste he had in furniture and decor.
"It has a really great view and your rooms are so spacious" Mallory said after her took her on a tour.
"You like it?" Devin asked. "It's amazing" Mallory nodded.
"Let me grab a bottle" Devin said and opened the fridge to grab a bottle of champagne and two glasses.
"Do you want stay in here or should we go outside" Devin asked. "Out, you didn't decor so we'd be in here" Mallory said and they made their way out to the balcony.
He served two glasses and handed her one. "A toast to us and what's to come" Devin smiled. "And to your new home, I'm so happy for you" Mallory hugged him. She sat on his lap and he hugged her waist with one arm.
"Move in with me" Devin said.
