Dark Times
He fired at me with bomb after bomb.
I don't want to assume again, unless he tells me directly. But right now, I didn't have time to process everything he said.
"Do you hear me? I don't have a girlfriend. You got it all wrong. And I'm going to kick that asshole's ass," he hissed, referring to Art.
I heard him clearly, despite the bustling crowd. And that's also the reason why I couldn't pull myself together.
He sighed. "I told him Aurelia will be coming over to my place for a friendly dinner. Adam, my business partner, was also there. He's staying at my place that time because he had just arrived."
He snickered as he stared at nowhere. He looked as if he was plotting on how to kick Art's ass. Naniwala ako dahil noong sinabi niya iyon, mukha siyang sigurado.
"She's a distant maternal relative. They met through me. Since then, Aurelia has worked for our company. And since then, they had something going on between them."
If I see Art, I'm going to kick his ass. But that would mean I'd have to kick my own ass, too!
"How about you? You had a dinner with my cousin. Does that dinner mean... anything?"
"Out of all the restaurants here, you met there?"
What could that mean? Does that mean he still... loves me?
Could I really hold onto to that assumption when so many years have passed, and so many things have changed?
"Yeah, I've been watching the two of you last time at the party," he grimaced.
"I thought you'd win me back, huh? Is that how you planned to do it? To make me jealous?"
He sounds plainly amused, as if he's rejoicing as he watches his effect take on me.
