Rickel***

"Mr. Nichols?" I heard someone whispering as they shook me. "Mr. Nichols wake up."

My eyes fluttered open and all I could see was white. Where the heck was I? Kadian's face came into view and I jumped up. I was still at the rehabilitation center. I'm so screwed!

"What time is it?" I asked as I slowly tried to get up from beside Sheila who was still fast asleep.

"It almost 7:30. When you didn't leave last night, I thought you were just spending some time with her."

I ran my hand over my face. "Agh! No. You should have come and wake me up."

"I'm so sorry Mr. Nichols. I didn't know." She apologized.

"It's Ok. Is there a bathroom I can use to freshen up?"

"Yes." Kadian smiled at me kindly. "Its the third door down the hall on your left. I'll wait until you leave before I wake Sheila."

I shook her hand. "Thank you so much for understanding. Send me the bill when you're ready."

I took a last glance at Sheila and shut the door behind me. I quickly went to the bathroom, splashed some water on my face and left the building.

When I got to the parking lot, I immediately called Janell and informed her that I would be in late today. All this time my nerves were going into overdrive. Reese is going to kill me!

When I reached home, I didn't park in the garage. I didn't have time. I parked in the driveway and rushed into the house. I checked my room first to see if she was still asleep but the bed was well made.

I didn't think much of it. Maybe she woke up in the middle of the night and felt uncomfortable. I checked her room but she wasn't there. Now I was starting to panic.

I checked all the rooms and bathrooms upstairs. I went downstairs to the kitchen and the guestrooms but she wasn't there. The guest bathroom was my last resort but she wasn't there.

I stood in the bathroom feeling confused as hell. Why did she have to watch the news?!

I stared at my reflection in the mirror. It was then that I noticed something was off. The glass was shattered as if someone punched it. Oh my God! This is how upset I made Reese? I have to find her now.

I tried calling her but it went straight to voicemail. I text her instead:

Reese we need to talk. It's not what you think. It's all a misunderstanding. Answer your phone so I can explain.

A few seconds later a prompt came up on my phone.

Message not not. User is out of service range.

I was puzzled. What could that mean? She damaged her phone and left the country? I shook my head. That was too crazy. Maybe she just went for a drive to get her head cleared.

I checked the garage and just like I thought, her car wasn't there.

Shit! What if she was driving angrily and had an accident? Maybe that's why her phone wasn't working.

I needed to stop the negative thoughts. I need to go find her but I don't even know where she likes to hang out or where she goes when she's upset.

The first place I went was my office. Gaby was sitting at her desk deep in her work already.

"Good morning Rickel." She smiled when she saw me.

I smiled back. "Good morning. Have you talked to Reese since morning?" I went straight to the point.

"Yeah. She was waiting for me when I got here. She said she was going to be out of town today."

"Really? Did she say where?"

Gaby frowned. "No she didn't and I don't like to pry in her business. She even left her phone with me. She said she would collect it once she came back."

She left her phone? Where the heck was she going?

"Did she seem upset?"

Gaby shook her head. "Quite the opposite actually. She was in high spirits when she left here. She was pretty excited about where she was going."

She was happy huh? Maybe she hasn't seen the news then.

"Ok. Thanks Gaby. I was kinda worried when I didn't see her this morning and when her phone went straight to voicemail."

Gaby smiled nonchalantly. "I'm sure she's fine. You have nothing to worry about."

I left Gaby and went into my office, leaving the door opened. Maybe I can trace the tracker I placed on her car. Why didn't I think about that earlier?

I logged on to my computer, ready to start spying on my girlfriend.

🚫Tracker has been removed three hours ago.🚫

What the heck?

I leaned back in my chair. Maybe I don't know Reese at all. Maybe I underestimate her too much. Why would she get the tracker removed? How did she even know it was there in the first place? Am I sure I should be trusting her?

"You're in quite late today. Busy night?"

Janell was standing in my doorway wearing a very tight, sexy, red pencil dress that was accentuating her curves way too much. Is this dress even appropriate for work? Her stillotes even made her legs look longer. How did I not know she had such a tiny waist and such wide hips?

She had a cheeky grin on her face. "Are you done viewing?"

Dammit! She caught me checking her out.

"Did you need something?" I asked her as seriously as I could.

She crossed her hands as she rocked her hips to one side. "No. I just came to check on you.....see if you're lonely?"

I cleared my throat. "I'm not lonely. Thanks for checking though."

I turned to my computer, completely ignoring her. A few seconds later, I heard her leaving and I looked up just in time to see her perfectly round butt.

Where were these thoughts even coming from? I'm not attracted to Janell.....or am I?

I shut down the computer and left the office immediately. I'm just going to go home and wait for Reese to return from wherever she went.
