Reese***

You. You are the reason I'm not in school.

I shoved some fries into my mouth. I didn't mean to say that out loud. It just came out.

Rickel was confused. "Me?"

I swallowed and laugh nervously. "Yes you."

He leaned back and folded his arms. "Explain." His mood was already changing for the worse.

"You....well people like you who need maids. You are the reason I'm not in school."

I knew I sounded stupid but that was the only excuse I could come up with in that moment.

I sighed. "I just couldn't afford it anynore so I decided to work and save up the money to pay my way through."

Rickel seemed to be deep in thought. "So you rented an apartment? But that's going to take all your money."

"I didn't rent an apartment. I can't afford that yet. I'm living off my friend's couch."

Rickel looked as if I told him I was a vampire. "What? How can you live like that?"

"Well. Not all of us are privileged as you are."

"Ok let's go to the apartment and get your things." He got up and started leaving.

I trotted behind him. "What are you talking about?"

"You're moving into my house. There are so many spare rooms you can use." He said as if it was the most obvious explanation.

"Whoa whoa! Hold your horses. I didn't say I was moving in with you."

"Yea but I did. Don't you want to finish school?"

I pondered for a moment. This was all too good to be true. I could be living in his house, watching his every move, making him let his guard down. I'm sure Gaby would be happy to have me off her couch.

"Remember I owed you for helping me with Shelia? This could be my way of paying you back."

I thought about it for a moment. "Wait. But you said I could think of a way for you to repay me. You're not giving me much of a choice here."

He sighed. "What could be more important than a good place to sleep?"

I shook my head. "Trust me, there are other things."

I couldn't stop my mind from flashing back home. I didn't want to disappoint my family. They are depending on me. My mother doesn't even know I wasn't in school.

"Ok. Give me some time to think about it." I said as I got into the car and he started driving me home.

"How many years of college did you complete?" His question broke the silence.

"Just two."

"I see." He stared straight ahead as he overtook two vehicles.

Was he trying to take my life?!

I gripped the door handle and sunk my feet into the floor.
"Do you mind? I would like to make it home alive!"

His evil laughter made me want to scream. "What? A little fun never hurt anybody."

I felt his warm skin and he slowed down. It was then that I realized I had slapped him across his face.

I covered my mouth in fright. "I-I'm so sorry."

A few moments passed.

"Mr. Nichols. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to slap you. It's just that you were going too hard and I panicked."

He slowly leaned over to my seat and his warm breath caressed my cheek. He knew the effect he had on me when he whispered into my ear. "I'm sure you will like it when I drive hard into you."

I gasped as he pulled the lock and the door opened.

"You're home. Goodnight Reese."

He sped away as soon as I got out.

I stood there baffled at his candid statement. What was wrong with this man? How can he change personality so often? One minute he can't stand me and the next he wants to get me all hot and bothered.

I screamed into the darkness as I walked toward the apartment. Rickel was going to make me go crazy. I want to hate him but sometimes he makes it so damn hard for me.

"Gaby?" I called out when I entered the apartment.

"I'll be out in a minute." Her voice came from the bathroom.

She was singing and seemed to be in high spirits. I like when she is like this.

"Hmmm.....I wonder why you are so happy." I taunted her when she came out.

She giggled like a little girl.
"I.......have a date tonight."

"A date? When did this happen?"

I followed her into her room where the pile of clothes on the bed kept getting higher as she tried to find the perfect outfit.

"Oh my God! I don't own any sexy dresses." She threw herself on the bed.

I laughed at her childish behavior. "You can borrow one of mine.......providing that you give me all the details about this guy."

"Give me the dress!"

"Ok. Ok." I went and got her a strapless blue pencil dress and the perfect pair of stilettos to match.

"Reese you are a life saver. This is perfect." She gushed.

"Now dish!" I sat on the bed as she started getting ready.

"Well....." She paused for a moment. "We met in the gym the other day. He's probably the sexiest man alive right now. His abs are so sexy I felt like licking the sweat from it."

"Eew! That's gross."

She laughed. "If you saw him you would have done the same. Anyway.....his lips were what got me. They are so sweet. We started talking and he asked me out. Girl, I didn't even play hard to get. There's no way I'm letting him slip through my fingers."

My mind zoned for a moment. It's funny how Gaby became my friend and took me in without knowing much about me. When I told her I had dropped out of college, she didn't even ask me which one or why I dropped out. This is what a true friend is. I just hope when the time is right, I will tell her everything about me.

"So how do I look? He's taking me to a fancy restaurant. I hope I'm dressed appropriately."

The dress looked perfect on her. It's like it was made for her.

"You look great. Go and enjoy yourself."

"Hmmm.....I hope I get to enjoy him all night tonight." She wiggled her brows.

"Well just remember to stay safe young lady." I sounded like her mom. Ugh!

"I will." She assured me. "I just wish you could see his body. You would be so jealous. Oh wait....I forgot he sent me a picture. Please keep your droolings to a minimum." She handed her phone to me.

"Uhm....this is the guy you're going out with?" I asked as my heart beat sped up.

"Yes. Isn't he hot?"

I didn't know what to say. A picture of my ex-boyfriend, Aaron was staring back at me.

"You can't wear that dresss."

That was the exact dress I wore on my first date with Aaron. He's definitely going to remember it since he had made sure I gave him a runway show in that dress.

Gaby snatched her phone from me. "I knew you would be jealous. Goodnight Reese. Don't wait up."

She shut the door behind her and I fell to my knees in disbelief.

There is going to be so much chaos in this apartment!
