Rickel***

I have no idea what I'm doing. I invited Reese to live with me and I barely know her. She's not even my type. I guess me and my smaller guy both having different taste in women.

I sat in my office trying to get some work done, but my mind kept running back to her. Maybe I should do a background check on her to make sure she's nonviolent enough to live in my house. I insisted on buying her new clothes and shoes so she can stay over but she didn't seem overly excited like most girls would have been.

I sighed.

I hated seeing her like that last night. Sure, I could have used her vulnerability to my advantage but I didn't. If it were any other girl I would have taken her to my room and had my way with her.

For some weird reason, I wanted to help Reese. I wanted to make sure her Mom was alright.

I called my assistant into my office.

"Janell, can you book two first class tickets to Puerto Rico for this Saturday please?"

She nodded as she undressed me with her eyes. "Sure sir. Anything else?"

I undid the two top buttons of my shirt to let her get a peak of my chest. Was it sexual harassment to be teasing my employees like this....even if they enjoy it?

I lowered my voice just enough to sound sexy. "No that will be all, hon."

She crossed her leg while standing and I tried my best not to smile.

"But sir, there will be an office party here on Saturday and you're required to attend."

I had completely forgotten about that. "Make it a morning flight then. I can go and be back in time for the party. I have enough stamina to last a lifetime."

"Ok." She whimpered as she hastily left my office.

I watched her as she wobbled quickly across the open plan office and into the bathroom. I know she will be satisfying herself while she thinks about my body.

My goodness! I sound like a pervert. What would my mother think of me right now? In her eyes, I'm still the perfect little son who can do no wrong. I just hope she will eventually like Reese.

Reese. Reese. Reese.

Once I start thinking about her, there's no stopping. I just allow my imagination to run wild. I wonder how good she is with that perfectly arched back. Maybe once we get back from Puerto Rico I can find out. She will want to find a way to thank me for letting her see her mother and I know just how.

I smirked. I finally will have her where I want her.

"Mr. Nichols, your mother is here to see you sir." Janell's voice made me remember that I was at work.

"Send her in."

I hurriedly took a cushion from one of the armchairs and placed it on my lap. Yes, I'm a grown man but there are some things a mother shouldn't know.

"Good afternoon Poodle. I brought lunch." She sang.

"Mom. I'm at work. You know that name is not allowed."

"Oh come on! There's no one in here but us." She placed the lunch kit on my desk and started clearing the papers I was trying to work on.

She brought salad, sweet potato pie and some mango juice. She surely had something up her sleeves.

I went to wash my hands and returned just as she hung up a call.

"Who was that?" I asked.

She fanned her hand at me. "Just your dad checking up on me. He worries so much."

"Oh. How's the big guy doing?"

"Enough about your father. I want to hear about you. I'm leaving in a few days and I hardly spend any time with you."

Her idea of 'spending time' with me was her controlling my life, telling me who to date, what to eat, what to wear. It's annoying.

"So what's going on in your life son?"

I took a sip of the juice then leaned back in my chair. "Well, the business is booming but my employees resent me, I have no friends and my mother hates my girlfriend."

She huffed. "Some girlfriend."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"I don't have to explain myself, Poodle. You are ruining your life if you continue dating this girl. Now Sheila......she is perfect for you. She is poised, well mannered and you can take her anywhere without worrying about her being in a fight."

The defensive side of me started to show it's self when she started talking about my Reese like that.

"Mom. Who I date is none of your business. If I want to marry Reese, I will and there's nothing you can do about it."

She held her chest. "Marriage? Marriage? Who said anything about marriage?! Rickel are you mad?! Have you completely lost your mind?"

She had started to overreact and I can see my employees staring at my office. Now they are going to hate me even more. What kind of man argues with his mother at his workplace?

"Mom. Can we discuss this at home? I have work to do here."

"Fine." She snatched up her purse. "Just know I'm not happy about this....and I can see why your staff hates you. You make poor choices."

I shook my head as I watched her leave. I wonder how my father puts up with her for so long.

Only one thing she said made any sense: my staff hates me.

Maybe Reese's idea will work. I called Janell into my office. "Could you make a suggestion box for me?"

"Sure sir."

I stepped out of my office and cleared my throat. Everyone stopped what they were doing and focussed on me.

"It has come to my attention that most of you despise me and as of such I would like for you to tell me the changes you would like to see. You will write your suggestions and drop them in this box. Have a lovely day, everyone. I'll get out of your hair for the rest of the day."

As I turned to go into my office, I could see some of them smiling already. They were overjoyed to see me leave.
