Rickel***

One night.

One stupid mistake.

That's all it takes to make a girl want to milk me for money.

As I sat relaxed in my office chair, my mind went back to last night. How could I have kissed Reese? She's a maid for Christ's sake! I already gave her an opening to scam me when I told her she could ask me for anything. I know her type. She's probably thinking long and hard on how much money she should ask me for.

Well yes. She might have earned it for helping me with Shelia but that still doesn't help her case.
As soon as she asks me for the money, I'll send her packing. Just fire her and get rid of her for good.

"Mr. Nichols, they are waiting for you in conference room #7." My assistant announced, bringing me from my thoughts.

"I'll be right there." I dismissed her quickly.

I gathered my documents for the presentation I was about to make and pushed Reese to the back of my mind.

All throughout the presentation I couldn't focus so I ended up cutting it short and leaving work early for the day.

I got some queer looks from my colleagues who knew I've never left work early before. One girl even asked if I was feeling alright.

I sighed. Was I really leaving work because a maid was causing me to lose focus? I just don't want my mother to find out. She has always praised me for not letting anything or anyone ruin the family business or it's image.

I wondered how my mom was getting along with the girls. I know she can be a bit overbearing sometimes. It's no doubt she and Shelia kicked it off when they coincidentally met a few months ago.

I went to the coffee shop near my workplace to pass some time. I was not eager to go home and face my mother, especially not after what she suggested last night.

"Good afternoon Mr. Nichols." The barista greeted me politely.

"Good afternoon Kelly. I'll have my usual please." I smiled at her before taking a seat at the east window.

I was on my second donut when my phone buzzed on the wooden table. I hissed my teeth when I realized it was the devil's sister calling me.

"Yes Shelia?" I answered gruffly.

"Hey darling!" Her voice was perky as usual. "Your mom and I was wondering if you would like to eat out with us tonight.....you know....as a family. It's good to bond."

"Fine. Make the reservations. I'll inform Reese not to prepare anything."

"Ok baby. I love you." Shelia said just as I hung up.

Grrr..... I hate when she says things like that. She knows I'm only with her because I felt sorry for her.

I was driving home from last year's Christmas party when I saw her sitting on a sidewalk. Being the concerned person I am, I pulled over and asked if she was ok. She told me her sad story of how she was raped by her uncle and how her boyfriend of two years just dumped her.

It took a toll on her self esteem and she kept saying how ugly and undesirable she was. Trying to cheer her up, I complimented her beauty and told her what a fool her boyfriend was. From that night she thinks we are a couple and she made sure she spread the word to everyone she knew.

I finished my coffee and donuts and dialed Reese's number. She didn't pick up until I called a second time.

"Hello?" She was out of breath when she answered.

"Reese, have you started preparing dinner as yet?" I asked her.

"No. Not yet sir. But I'll get right to it now-"

"Stop." I silenced her ramblings. "I'm just calling to tell you not to prepare any dinner. The girls and me will be eating out tonight so as soon as you finish cleaning you can leave."

The other line was quiet for a while then she replied. "Ok sir."

There was a slight sound of disappointment in her voice. But then again maybe it's just my mind playing tricks on me.

I gathered my things and left the coffee shop. The ride home was quite prompt today despite the fact that I didn't want to go home and face my mother.

When I opened the door my jaws dropped at what I saw. Why the heck did she do this?!
