Kaia couldn't help but smile at Marian. She hugged the journal to her chest. “Antarctica huh?” she said with a laugh.

Marian stood up and rolled her eyes. “I need a drink,” she said and stormed off into the house.

Kaia took a deep breath and got up off the lounger she was on. She looked out over the beautiful lake that was in front of her. She opened the journal and reread what Zayn had written. Maybe Marian was right. Could Zayn be in love with her? Lord knows she was in love with him. She would sell her soul for him to love her. She had felt so alone her whole life, well, except for Marian who had always loved her like family. And her ex, well, he wasn't worth a pot to piss in and she had discovered that too late.

“Kaia!” she heard someone yell. She glanced down at the dock and saw Harry waving up at her.

“What are you doing down there?” she called back.

“Come on the jet skis with me!”

Kaia laughed and glanced back at the house. She didn't know what Zayn was doing, but maybe it was good to burn off a little anxiety with how she was feeling.

“I'll be right down.” She set the journal down on the lounge chair and hurried off down the ramp to the dock.

When she arrived she couldn't help but admire Harry and all his fineness in his yellow swim trunks. Marian was one lucky lady.

Harry handed her a life vest. “Ready to have some fun?” he asked with a smirk.

Kaia put on the vest and smiled back. “Sure you know how to drive one of those?” she asked jokingly.

Harry just rolled his eyes. He walked over and held her jet ski while she got on and then climbed onto his. He turned to her and saw her looking over the lake and saw that she seemed lost in thought.

“Can I ask you something Kai?”

Kaia snapped out of her trance and looked at him. “Of course.”

“What are you scared of?” he asked, being serious.

She was taken aback by his question. “What do you mean?”

“Marian and I have had some long chats on the phone and she loves you and she's worried about you. And she told me that you're scared.”

“Harry....I...I've had a rough life and I.....” Kaia started and then inhaled deeply.

“I promise you that he won't hurt you.”

She looked at him. “I've been hurt a lot in my life, and this whole thing is just....”

“Crazy?” he asked with a smile.

“Yeah, I mean.....like nothing, nothing good happens to me. And this whole thing is so totally unexpected.”
